Quebec - Sherbrooke Presbytery Camp Offering programs for boys and girls ages 8-17 Sunday, June 26, 2016, 1-2 p.m. to Saturday, July 2, 2 p.m. Total Cost is $340* (includes t-shirt & tuck) Many United Church congregations provide assistance to help campers cover camp costs. Please ask in your home congregation. *Cost is $340 per child. Third and subsequent children in same family are $170. Register before May 1 and get $25 off. Receive a $50 discount for recruiting other campers. This year, the theme of camp is “Taking Flight”, facing new challenges and discovering how to soar!

Camp Program Younger campers (aged 8-12) are divided into cabin groups. There are usually four to six campers and one counsellor per cabin group. The group helps with the daily functioning of camp, preparing morning watch or vespers, putting on skits at campfire, cleaning up, etc. Seniors (aged 13-14) camp in tents. Programs for those aged 15-17 include Leadership Training and Away Team. Camp activities include swimming, boating, music, crafts, campfire, games and sports.

What to Bring! A full checklist will go out to all registered campers. Please label all belongings! Here are some items to keep in mind during your spring shopping: REQUIRED Sun hat and sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) Sleeping bag or bedding and extra blanket Warm pyjamas Shorts, jeans, tops, underwear, socks, bathing suit Warm sweater, jacket, running shoes Flashlight and batteries …and of course lots of smiles! OPTIONAL Pillow and pillowcase Musical instrument Writing paper, pen, stamps, book Non-valuable camera Softball glove, soccer ball Sandals or crocs (with an ankle strap)
What not to bring! Raccoon and Skunk alert: Please do not bring food! Campers will be well fed. DO NOT BRING Jewellery, new luggage, inflatable beach toys, electronic games and toys, cell phones, MP3 players, valuable musical instruments. Weapons, sharp objects, drugs and alcohol are strictly forbidden and will be confiscated. No candy or gum.

Frontier Lodge is a beautiful camp on the shores of Lake Wallace. It includes forests and open fields and gives campers and excellent opportunity to experience the wonders of nature. The United Church rents the camp property from Frontier Lodge.

Making Friends, Trying New Things To grow in awareness of the world, leaving home, gaining confidence in small groups, sleeping in cabins and building trust in others.
Intermediate (ages 11-12)*
Building Relationships with Others and God To build self-esteem, connect with peers and counsellors. Experiencing more of the world.
Senior (ages 13-15)*
A Challenge to Develop Community To learn to take responsibility in defining and building a caring community. This group will not exceed 20 campers.
Leadership Training (ages 15-17)
A challenge to Lead To learn how to be responsible for others and ourselves. To learn leadership skills. To identify and develop skills used in a community of faith and understand and respond to the needs of others. This group will not exceed 10 campers.
Away Team (ages 15-17)
A challenge for Independence & Team Building Campers will have an opportunity to take part in responsibility for daily living tasks, physical challenges, and to become aware of their own spiritual journey. The group will spend 3-4 days camping away from the main site and is limited to 4-10 campers. * Age as of September 30, 2016
