Queen’s Model United Nations Invitational Secretariat Job Descriptions Queen’s Model United Nations Invitational (QMUNi) is a premier collegiatelevel Model United Nations conference hosting 200+ delegates from universities across Canada and the United States. QMUNi 2017 is looking for its next executive team! Positions are available in communications, marketing, sponsorship, logistics, graphics, and more! Experience with Model UN is not required, and we are seeking a diverse field of applicants who will bring their passion and enthusiasm to our conference. Chargé D’Affaires • Oversee the entire registration process including reaching out to universities, sending invitations, evaluating the legitimacy of interested parties, creating/sending invoices, and collecting payment • Organize and send committee role packages to schools sending delegations • Communicate updates, logistical information, and committee information to delegations • Create the non-committee section of the delegate handbook • During the conference: o Manage daily updates to delegates/updates as they arise, meetings with head delegates, and communication with faculty advisors Under-Secretary General (2-4) • Please Note: Experience with Model UN and collegiate-level Model UN conferences is strongly recommended for this role • Assist the Secretary General with the hiring and coordination of a team of Committee Directors • Oversee the development and execution of committees, including creation of background materials, role profiles, crisis updates, etc. • Assist the Secretary General in the training of Crisis Directors, Head Chairs, and Assistant Chairs • During the conference: o Assist Committee Directors in running their committees o Conduct feedback sessions with delegates Chief of Staff • Please note: Some experience with Model UN is an asset for this role, but is not required

Assist the Secretary General with the hiring, training, and coordination of 100+ conference staff Work with the Secretary General and QIAA MUN Directors to develop and implement an intensive training program for Head Chairs, Assistant Chairs, and General Staff Create daily staff schedules During the conference: o Serve as the primary point of contact for all staff o Manage the allocation of human resources during the conference
Director of Marketing • Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to increase delegate registration and staff recruitment • Plan at least one event during the staff hiring period to promote recruitment • Manage promotional content on social media, the QMUNi website, etc. • Organize conference merchandise Director of Events • Organize 2 social events during the conference, one formal and one casual, including overseeing the procurement, transportation and set-up of all necessary equipment and materials • Organize food for Head Delegate Luncheon and social events • Organize and book the hotel rooms for the conference Director of Operations • Organize the opening and closing ceremonies of the conference • Find, invite, and coordinate a keynote speaker for the Opening Ceremonies • Order, print and organize the awards for the conference • Order and organize conference materials (i.e. chairs, tablecloths, etc.) • Book rooms for committees through the SLC and Event Services Director of Sponsorship and Outreach • Work with Director of Operations to find, invite, and coordinate a keynote speaker for Opening Ceremonies • Develop a sponsorship package to send out to potential sponsors • Reach out to local Kingston businesses/other companies or organizations for sponsorship (i.e. funds, materials, food, etc.) • Reach out to Queen’s faculties/departments, alumni, etc. for sponsorship • Research and apply for relevant grants/funding Director of Graphics and Technology • Manage/re-design the QMUNi website • Design graphics and templates for promotional materials, placards, background guides, delegate handbooks, etc. • If possible, look into other technologies (i.e. mobile app)
