Thank you for purchasing the Yamaha Raider passenger seat Speedy Solo kit. Following is the recommended procedure for installing the kit. Please be advised that this kit has only been tested with the stock OEM rider seat/passenger seat, and may or may not be compatible with other configurations. Also, the decision to modify your bike is yours, and therefore, I will not be held responsible (financially or otherwise) for any undesirable event or result should such event or result befall you, your bike, or your passenger during or after the installation of this product. With that said, I will stand behind my product, and if for any reason you are not completely satisfied, rest assured that I will do everything I can to remedy the issue.
What’s Included:
(1) Seat Bracket (1) Retaining Bracket (2) 5/16” X 3/4” Hex Bolt (2) 5/16” Hex Nut (2) 5/16” Lock Washer (6) 1” Felt pads
Tools Needed:
½” wrench Ratchet ½” socket 10mm socket 6” extension Rubbing Alcohol
Step 1: Remove the rider seat with the key.
Step 2: Use the 10mm socket with extension to remove the 2 bolts that hold the passenger seat on.
Step 3: Remove the 3 metal brackets that are bolted to the fender. (Only the bolts come out of the rider seat bracket (left), you will need it)
Step 4: Install the retaining bracket on top of the factory rider seat bracket. (Use the factory bolts that you just took out)
Step 5: Install the seat bracket using the provided hardware. (The lock-washer goes behind the nut)
Step 6: Line up the improved seat with the bracket and slip it on while leaving the back of the seat up off the fender a few inches and then just set it into place.
Step 7: (optional) Pop it back off, install the rider seat, and go ride solo!
Or don’t…
I do recommend installing a fender bib or leaving the factory clear plastic “pads” on the fender since the rubber "feet" on the seat could cause some rubbing on the paint over time. Also included are 6 felt stick on pads if you want to put them on the rubber “feet”. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the rubber before sticking the felt pads. I own the intellectual rights to this idea, it is my own creation (please don't steal it from me) Thank you Chris
