Program Rainbow Home-School Camp employs a holistic approach to education for students and parents who want a more balanced and individualized educational experience for their child. The program aims to challenge young learners academically, while nurturing their developing bodies and minds. The curriculum focuses on the following areas: Literacy: A phonics based approach to reading development supplemented with sight reading techniques. Graded readers will be sent home with students daily for extended practice. Numeracy: An American curriculum which utilizes naturalist learning approaches, supplemented with a state-of-the-art online learning program which provides parents with the ability to track their child’s progress and provide additional practice at home or on the weekends. Science: Naturalistic and inquiry learning approaches will be employed to increase the children’s natural curiosity about nature. Children will also have ample opportunities to interact with nature in our student garden and in caring for our chickens, ducks and rabbits. Physical Health: Daily yoga practice and brain boosting physical activities designed to increase circulation, improve concentration and develop health lifestyles will be employed at regular intervals throughout the day. Mental Health: Guided meditation will be used to help students focus before lessons and to increase student self-awareness, self-esteem and self-confidence. Creativity: Students will work on creative arts and crafts projects and will be able to sing, dance and even learn to play the piano.
