THORNAPPLE KELLOGG SCHOOLS “RECLAIMED SPIRIT” BRICK SCULPTURE ORDER FORM The Thornapple W.K. Kellogg School from 1931 to 1999 was torn down, and a committee was formed to expand on the idea of putting a sculpture at the site of the old school. Construction started on the sculpture with reclaimed bricks from the old school building. The name “Reclaimed Spirit” was given to the sculpture, followed by a park designated around the sculpture which became “Reclaimed Spirit Park.” Paver bricks were an important part of the sculpture. The river of bricks with names, messages, and dedications forms the river that flows towards the new educational facilities at 509 W Main, McFall Elementary.
