Remediation Spanish is a cumulative subject; therefore, success is based on the ability to retain and practice previously learned material. Unaddressed difficulties usually mean more difficulties later. Questioning is a sign of learning. Keep up with your work and review nightly. I will be offering extra help sessions every Friday morning from 8:10-8:50 (unless I have hall duty). The Spanish National Honor Society will also be offering additional help, dates and time currently TBD. Students should come prepared with questions and/or topics for which they would like additional help. I want you to have a very successful year!

Support to Success In order to help students understand the impact of failure and how to correct mistakes, I will offer the following remediation and retake opportunity:

Retest After Failure Any student who earns an “F” on a test can remediate and opt to be reassessed. The reassess ment format will be determined by the teacher. Remediation and reassessment must occur within one week of the posted grade of the assessm ent or within three days after the close of the marking period, whichever comes first.   

Opportunity does not apply to quizzes or projects Opportunity does not apply to semester or final exams One time only opportunity on each major assessment

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, the student must:  

Initiate and follow through on any reassessment opportunities Complete individual remediation task list including: o Completing and correcting all homework assignments during the weeks leading u p to the assessment (as detailed on the homework calendar) o Making (re-making on paper) flashcards for all vocabulary themes discussed in the book, as well as any supplemental lists provided by the teacher o Complete all online activities for unit (as indicated on our website or Schoology) o Review and correct all related quizzes for the unit o Complete the detailed study guide for the unit (if available, not all units have study guides) o Create a list of questions and areas of difficulties related to the unit o Attend a review session the week of the retake o Complete the remediation form (see attached)

4. The highest grade attainable to replace the original test grade is 65%.
