Media Release (For Immediate Release) February 15, 2017 The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Male Athlete of the Month for February 2017 is Rudy Soffo. Rudy Soffo, is a 16 year old Red Deer resident, a Grade 11 student at Notre Dame High School and a competitive basketball player who has been playing basketball since fourth grade. Rudy is a forward/post with the Notre Dame Cougars the past two seasons and plays with the Red Deer Kings 18U Basketball Club as well. With Notre Dame this season, Rudy was named the MVP of the Leduc High School Boys Basketball tournament. This past summer Rudy was selected to play for team Alberta 16U men's Basketball team and was named the MVP of the Edmonton Grads Basketball Tournament, featuring Provincial teams from across Western Canada. Rudy aspires to play college basketball in the CIS or NCAA after he graduates from Notre Dame. Rudy’s athletic gifts and desire to excel along his training experiences with ASDC-Central will only see him continue to grow and develop in his basketball career!
