April is April is national Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The purpose of SAAM is to bring awareness to the prevalence of sexual violence in our communities. STAR is partnering with several organizations in the community to host a month full of events and activities to help spread awareness, connect those in our community who have survived rape and abuse, and help end sexual violence in our community. Join us for these exciting and empowering events.

Bistro for a Cause
STAR will be hosting our 3rd Annual Champions of Change Breakfast fundraiser and awareness event. This year we are excited to recognize this year’s Champion of Change Honoree, East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar C. Moore, III. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by visiting www.star.ngo.
Join us at Bistro Byronz on Monday, April 24th from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. for good food for a good cause. You can join us at either the Mid-City (5412 Government Street) or Perkins Rowe (8200 Village Plaza Ct) locations! Dine in or take out and tell your server you are dining for STAR; we will receive 20% of dine in tickets and 10% of take-out ticket proceeds.

Denim Day
April 28 – All Day Join STAR in wearing jeans for a cause! Show your support for sexual assault survivors in the workplace by participating in Denim Day. Denim Day is an event that aims to prevent sexual violence through education and public awareness. For a suggested donation of $5, wear jeans to work and take a stand against sexual violence and demonstrate that there is no justification when it comes to rape.
