Derby Hills is committed to the safety and security of your student. We realize that students learn best in an environment where they feel protected, nurtured and loved. For this reason, one of our missions is to create a family atmosphere while keeping students safe and preparing them for success. In lieu of these beliefs we have put into place several safety procedures we need you to be aware of. Please make sure you share this with anyone who may pick up your student. Additionally, please be sure you keep your pick up list updated in Skyward. Parents cannot add contacts over the phone. Entrance Requirements for Visitors We require all visitors to show a government issued photo ID upon entrance to the building. This includes parents or guardians checking students out, visitors to our building and volunteers. Please follow the procedures below: 1. Ring the buzzer o utside the main entrance to notify us you are here. 2. A staff member will ask you to state your name and the reason for your visit. 3. We will grant you access to the vestibule. 4. Please come directly to the main office door, and upon seeing you we will unlock the door to let you into the office. 5. Please be prepared to show your government issued photo ID and sign in, or sign your student out on the appropriate sheet. 6. If you are signing a student out, once it’s confirmed you are on the student’s contact list, they will be called down to the office. 7. If you are visiting or volunteering please put on a visitor’s sticker before proceeding to the classroom. 8. Upon the completion o f your visit, or w hen checking your student back in, please check out or sign your student back in on the appropriate sheet.
