Red Flags of Abuse Have you experienced any of these with your partner: Scared you with looks, actions, and/or gestures? Withheld approval, or affection as punishment? Threatened to kill your pets? Red Flags of Abuse Controled what you do, who you see or talk to, or where you go?

Destroyed your property? Used your children to control you or threatened to take your children away from you? Forced sex or sexual acts on you against your will? Threatened to take their own life instead of yours?

Domestic abuse is not your fault! Domestic abuse is a pattern of behaviors intended to control another person. Relationships based on fear, power and control are abusive. Abuse can be physical, mental, sexual, verbal, emotional, and economical.

You did not cause the abuse, and no one ever has the right to abuse you. You are not alone.

Safety Card We are here for you to listen, give options, and offer support. Call today. We are ready to listen 24/7.

We are confident that you, the survivor, know what is best for yourself and your children. We understand the impact that trauma can have on a survivor’s ability to form healthy relationships, cope with daily stressors, interact with their children and friends, hold down a job, or complete goals such as continued education. If you are looking for help, our services are free and confidential. We won’t judge you for staying with, leaving, or going back to an abusive partner.

Protect yourself. Avoid going in a room with potential weapons, such as kitchens, or one that doesn’t have an exit route. Ask a neighbor that you trust to call the police if they ever see or hear anything suspicious coming from your home. Make a safety plan with your children so they know what to do, where to go, or who to call in an emergency. If you or your children are in immediate danger, call 911 as soon as you can.

What do you need to take with you if you leave? We understand why you may decide to stay. Leaving can be dangerous. It is a good idea to have these things ready to go for you and your children. Hide them some place for if you decide to leave. Money Drivers license/form of ID Birth, Marriage, and Divorce Certificates Medication and toiletries Extra set of keys
