Mentor Max-MARC Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MMCED) is the coming together of two premier institutions (Mentor Max and MARC) that helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into viable businesses. Mentor Max Incubation Services Private Limited is an initiative of the International Consortium for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research (ICIER), that provides specialised service to business start-ups. ICIER was started by Milano-Bococca University, Italy in partnership with top institutions of the BRIC nations, including IIM-B in India to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the world's fastest growing economies.

Management Academy and Research Centre (MARC) is a premier business school based in Bangalore, that offers MBA and post-graduate certification programs. With a vision to position itself as a centre of excellence in the field of business education on par with leading institutes of the world, MARC has consistently delivered quality education since 2008 resulting in it being ranked #2 New Generation B-School by Digital Mailers Survey and #16 private business school in Southern India by Bhaskar Lakshya.

Our Services MMCED offers services to entrepreneurs in six specialist areas. Business Idea Screening The most important thing we do is work with startups on their ideas. We spend valuable time figuring out how to make things people want. We guide the incubatees in the direction in which a small idea should be expanded to make it a scalable business venture. Ideas may range from apparently minor one (what to call the company) to frighteningly ambitious (world domination).

Advisory Services & Mentoring Mentors to guide and course correct will be provided by MMCED. The mentors will bring in domain expertise, experience in running or managing similar businesses and will match with each individual start-up's requirement. Information and advise on protecting patents/ intellectual property and management consultancy services may also be availed.

Support Services The centre may, upon request, arrange human resources and administrative staff to support the start-up businesses. Entrepreneurs have the option of choosing from MMCED recommended external resources for services of lawyers, accountants, technicians, etc.

Business Planning & Research Entrepreneurs can use the services of MMCED experts for assistance in preparing and improving their business plans. Start-ups may outsource processes like conducting market survey, researching secondary sources on industry, analysing competition, and testing new products to MMCED.

Incubation Infrastructure The incubator's co-working space is strategically located at Bannerghatta Road near major IT parks, shopping centres and educational institutions. It has a vibrant mix of rich heritage along with modern facilities. Bathed in natural light and airy environment with data connectivity, it is ideal for small start-ups and freelance workers to grow their businesses.

Networking with Investors The centre will connect entrepreneurs with angel investors, venture capitalists and other private equity firms. Assistance in making a pitch to investors and banks will be provided by MMCED. The centre also opens opportunities to fi n d b u s i n e s s p a r t n e r s a m o n g s t o t h e r entrepreneurs and professionals.

The Process

Application Prospective entrepreneur will submit an application and present their business plan

Documents Business registration documents must be completed and submitted. Legal shareholding contract to be signed with MMCED

Progress Periodic review of business progress will be made and strategic direction will be steered by MMCED panel.

Selection Screening Committee will review the business plan and may approve, reject or request for information or reject the plan within 7 days of application.

Incubate Space will be allotted in the incubator, points of contact, usage of facilities and procedures will be explained. Mentor will be assigned.

Graduation Contracted period of incubation may be ended or extended. MMCED may exit by bringing in new partners or investors.
