April 9, 2018 Senior Parents/Guardians Tony Andres, Senior Class Advisor Graduation Information
As the school year begins to wind down and your senior gets close to graduation, I know you may have questions regarding senior events. Included with this letter is a copy of spring activities for Seniors. I would like to highlight a few important items coming up in the next few weeks: 1. Graduation caps and gowns will be handed out on May 18th during advisory. Seniors will be required to complete a graduation checkout form and have a final exit interview with Mrs. Litsey. Gowns can be steam ironed on a low setting if necessary as students will need to bring them for pictures on Thursday, May 24th (see #3 below). 2. The senior awards program will take place on Tuesday, May 22nd, at 10:00 am in the auditorium. Parents and relatives are encouraged to attend. Students should dress nicely for this event (no shorts). Dollars for Scholars Scholarships are also awarded at this time. 3. On Thursday, May 24, formal graduation pictures will take place. Interstate Studios will take a professional group picture at 8:30 am sharp, followed by individual pictures. It is important for your senior to be there even if you do not wish to purchase a professional picture. Seniors will receive picture order envelopes about two weeks before this date. Picture orders must be turned in at the time of pictures. Please make sure your senior brings his or her cap and gown for the pictures. 4. Graduation will occur on Sunday, May 27, at 2:00 pm in the main gym. All seniors should be in the High School LMC by 1:00 (one hour before the ceremony). Remember that there is no reserved seating so come early. Students are required to meet all MLHS graduation requirements, including the community service project, in order to participate in graduation ceremonies. Please give me a call if you have any questions or concerns (218-485-4635 x1613). 5. Reminder that all books/materials will need to be returned and fees paid by the last week of school before graduation. Thank you!
