Senior Notes – April, 2016 Important Dates to Remember:
Cap and Gown Delivery – May 6th at Lunch. Prom – May 7th from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Baccalaureate – May 15th at Turner Christian Church. Senior Awards Night – May 25th at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. Last Day for Seniors – May 26th. Senior Trip – May 27th going to Seaside. Graduation – June 1st 7:00 pm Salem Armory. (Graduation practice at 9:00 am that same day) SAT – The last testing date is June 4; must register by May 5. ACT – The last testing date is June 11; must register by May 6.
Scholarships
Gary Bates Memorial Scholarship – for graduating seniors from Cascade High School or Jefferson High School who plan to go to college. Preference is given to those who have been involved in a sheep or wool project, but that is not required. Due May 3, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office or talk to Ms. Bates.
Donald Burkland Scholarship – for three graduating seniors from Cascade with financial need, scholastic success, and school and community activities. Due May 5, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
Turner Fire Volunteer Association Scholarship – for a graduating senior from Cascade who plans to further their education as a full time student at an accredited college, university or trade school, and who has a 3.0 GPA or higher. Due April 29, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
The McNeil Memorial Scholarship – for a Cascade High School senior interested in pursing a career in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, or Nursing. Due May 4, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
Clark Powell Memorial Scholarship – for a Cascade graduating senior who models dedicated friendship, athletic accomplishment and academic excellence, and is involved in athletic and extracurricular activities with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Due May 1, 2016. Applications available in the counseling office.
Caleb Stewart Scholarship – for a Cascade High School graduating senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, who is planning to attend an accredited college or university. The applicant must also have some community service, volunteer service or leadership experience. Due May 6, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
The Beca Street Scholarship – for any Cascade High School senior who will be enrolling in a fulltime accredited four-year public or private college or university. Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic and outstanding character through academic excellence, leadership qualities and a record of service to his or her community. Due April 15, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
George E. Foote Scholarship in Humor – The bridges foundation offers this scholarship to promote awareness of humor and comedy in written and theatrical forms. The scholarship is created to honor George H. Foote, who, in the course of conducting business and life, used humor and comedy to change the world around him with positivity and enjoyment. To apply, submit a humorous, 500 word typed essay to the counseling office. Due April 25, 2016.
Earl and Agnes Bear Memorial Scholarship – for a graduating senior from Cascade with a 2.75 GPA or higher, who is planning to attend Western Oregon University to major in Elementary Education. Due May 2, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
Gary K. Bates Memorial Scholarship – for a Cascade High School senior who plans to attend a college, university or other training past high school. Due May 5, 2016. Applications are available in the counseling office.
