October - December: Applying to college 









 

Look over the application for each college you plan to apply to. Prioritize based on deadline. Request Letters of Recommendation (if needed)  Be prepared to give your teacher/counselor this form when you request your letter Update your college essay to reflect the topics required for your applications. Request transcripts from Ms. Sierra in room 305 - download the request form Add the colleges you are applying to into your Naviance account. This is required before you can request a transcript. Under the "COLLEGES" tab select "COLLEGES I'M APPLYING TO" and select the schools you have already applied to. Submit applications Athletes - register with NCAA Clearinghouse

 



Continue to do scholarship searches and applications Review 2nd semester schedule to make sure you are taking the classes need for high school graduation requirements and college entrance requirements. See your counselor about adding any concurrent enrollment classes or internships. Remember, if you earn 12 college credits by the end of high school, you are eligible for the College First/ASCENT program that allows you to continue tutionfree at a community college for 1 year after graduation. See Mrs. Hodson in Room 205 with questions about this opportunity. Attend the Financial Aid Information Night on December 4th from 6:30-8:00 in the JFK Room, 112. This will provide an overview of the Financial Aid process and prepare you to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
