Medal of Heroism

Superior Cadet

Awarded by the Department of the Army to a cadet who performs an act of heroism.

Awarded annually to

N-1-3 Academic Achievement Awarded annually to those Cadets who maintain a grade of "A" in JROTC and a “B” in the remaining academic subjects.

the Cadet of the Year as decided by board.

N-1-1 Distinguished Cadet

N-1-2 Academic Excellence

Awarded annually to one cadet who exhibits the highest degree of excellence in scholastics.

Awarded annually to one cadet in each LET level for maintaining highest school academic grades.

N-1-4 Perfect Attendance

N-1-5 Student Government

N-1-6 LET Service

Awarded to Cadets with no unexcused absence during each semester.

Elected to a student government office.

Awarded to Cadets who successfully complete each LET level.

N-1-7 JROTC Meritorious Award

N-1-8 NHS

N-1-9 JLAB

Awarded by the SAI/AI to Cadets who have consistently sacrificed their personal time in support of JROTC or school activities. Also Awarded to best CO/1SG.

Awarded Cadets inducted into the National Honor Society

Awarded annually to those Cadets who participate in the annual JLAB teams at level 1 and higher.

N-3-1 SAI Leadership

N-3-2 Personal Appearance

N-3-3 Proficiency

Awarded to one cadet/LET level that displays the highest degree of leadership.

Awarded to those Cadets who maintain an 85% or higher on ALL uniform inspections. Also awarded to the Best Dressed Cadets.

Awarded annually to those Cadets who have demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of leadership, academic achievement, and performance of duty.

N-1-10 JROTC Commendation Award Awarded to Cadets whose performance of duty exceptionally exceeds that expected of a Cadet of their grade and experience. Also awarded to Cadets of the Quarter and best SL/PSG.

N-3-4 Drill Team Awarded to those Cadets who are selected to be members of the JV or Varsity Drill Teams and compete at 1 meet.

N-3-5 Orienteering/Land Navigation Ribbon

Awarded annually to Cadets who are members of the Orienteering or Land Navigation teams and compete at 1 orienteering or field meet.

N-3-9 JROTC Achievement Award

N-3-6 Color Guard

N-3-7 Rifle Team

Awarded annually to Cadets who are members of the color guard and complete 5 color guard events. (not including drill meets)

Awarded to Cadets that are selected to the Varsity Marksmanship Team and scores are used in 1 meet.

N-3-10 Good Conduct

Awarded annually to the Cadets Awarded to Cadets for an who have demonstrated outstanding achievement outside outstanding conduct w/out of normal duties. C/BN Cdr may behavioral issues in JROTC or award 2 per semester w/merit Referrals in school.

N-3-8 Raider Challenge/Adventure

Awarded annually to Cadets who are members of adventure training type events (Raider/Field Meet) and compete at 1 Raider Challenge or Field Meet event.

N-3-11 JCLC

N-3-12 JROTC Honor Guard

Awarded to those Cadets that attend and complete JCLC

Awarded to Cadets selected for the Honor Guard.

N-3-13 Best Company

N-3-14 Best Platoon

N-3-15 Best Squad

N-2-1 School Varsity Sports

Awarded annually to Cadets that are in the best company.

Awarded annually to Cadets that are in the best platoon.

Awarded annually to Cadets that are in the best squad.

Awarded to Cadets that earn a Varsity letter in a school sport outside of JROTC.

N-2-2 Physical Fitness Award

N-2-3 JROTC Athletic Award

Awarded to those Cadets who achieve 85% or higher in all events of the Cadet Challenge

Awarded to those Cadets who achieve 50% or higher in all events of the Cadet Challenge.

N-2-4 JROTC Sports

N-2-5 Flag Detail

Awarded to Cadets who compete in 2 JROTC competitions (Softball or Basketball) Regional and States for Archery.

Awarded to Cadets who have participated on flag detail for 60 times.

N-4-1 Parade

N-4-2 Recruiting

Awarded to those Cadets who successfully complete two parades

Awarded to Cadets who recruit 2 students into the JROTC program who stay an entire semester.

N-4-4 Leadership Duty Ribbon Awarded to Cadets who fulfill a Leadership position for 2 semesters (SL and above).

N-4-5 Band/Chorus/Drama Awarded to members of the school band, chorus, or drama for 2 full semesters.

N-4-3 Community Service Awarded to Cadets that successfully complete three community service events

N-4-6 Service Learning Awarded to those Cadets who were on the Service Learning team and completed a Service Learning project.

N-4-7 Staff Ribbon Awarded to Cadets who are primary and assistant Staff officers for 2 semesters.

Awarded to those Cadets that conduct 10 community service events.

Awarded to those Cadets that attend JCLC that are Honor Graduates.

Raider Team Arc

Awarded to Cadets that perform in the school band and are named to the all-region or state or equivalent.

Awarded annually to those Cadets who earn perfect attendance in all classes for the entire year (must be in JROTC both semesters).

Awarded annually to the top 3 male and female Cadets for Cadet Challenge.

Awarded to those Cadets who participate on the Raider team and compete at the state competition for 1 year or at the regional competition for 2 years.

Awarded to those Cadets who who recruit 3 Cadets into JROTC who stay for at least 1 Semester .

Awarded to those Cadets who compete in 3 Marksmanship team matches (scores must be used for drill meet or shoulder to shoulder competition).

Awarded to those Cadets who compete at 2 orienteering or land navigation competitions or competes for 2 years.

CORDS

Drill Team Cord: RED

JROTC Sports Cord: LIGHT BLUE

Awarded to those Cadets who compete and place (1-3) in the State Drill Meet, or are on 2 or more Varsity drill teams for 3 or more semesters.

Awarded to Cadets who compete in the State Archery tournament for 2 years or compete at 4 or more JROTC sporting tournaments (basketball/softball/Archery-Regional/States)

Color Guard Cord: WHITE

National Honor Society Cord: GOLD

Awarded to Cadets who participate on at least 15 color guard events (not including drill meets).

Awarded annually to Cadets who are members of the National Honor Society for 2 years

Best Dressed: ORANGE Awarded weekly to Cadets that score the highest per block during Uniform Inspections

Marksmanship (Rifle Team): TAN Must compete in 6 Marksmanship team matches (scores must be used for drill meet or shoulder to shoulder competitions) or be on the Marksmanship Team for 2 years.

Raider Challenge Cord: BLACK Awarded to Cadets who place (1-3) in the State Raider Challenge Meet or are on the Raider team for 2 years or more.

Exhibition Drill Team Cord: GREEN Awarded to Cadets who perform at 6 or more Exhibition events (not including drill meets) or are on the Exhibition Drill team for 2 or more years.

JLAB Team Cord: WHITE & BLUE EPAULET CORD Awarded to members who compete at the national level.

SJHS Honor Guard Cord: WHITE EPAULET CORD Awarded to Cadets that are on the Honor Guard for 3 semesters.

Battalion Leadership Cord (Light Blue, Infantry Blue pictured)

Company Leadership Cord (Light Blue; White pictured)

Primary Staff Cord (Light Blue; White pictured)

Team Captain Cord (Color will be the color of the team cord)

Awarded to the Battalion Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, and Battalion CSM

Awarded to Cadet Company Commander/1SG.

Awarded to Cadets that are primary staff.

Worn by the Commanders of all Teams (must of earned team cord)
