Training in music has been proven to increase performance in scholastics, and participation in team building activities creates a well rounded individual. Our music program uses graded materials which provide children with progressive multilevel lessons and opportunities to achieve awards of excellence. Our vision is that participation in the Children’s Choir will lead to singing in the Teen Choir, with continued development into a responsible person and fine Adult Singer - all the while increasing their knowledge about the Mass, their role in the liturgy, thereby achieving a greater understanding of their faith and spirituality. Under the gentle guidance and expertise of Ewa Fair your child will receive a first rate musical education and continued spiritual foundation.

Any communication is welcome! Ewa Fair is passionate about music and about leading singers to better themselves and to learn new skills. She received her music training at the Krakow Music Conservatory where she earned her master's degree in vocal performance. Previously in Chicago, Mrs. Fair has led children's choirs at The Lira Ensemble and at St. Thecla church among others. At St. John Brebeuf Mrs. Fair's emphasis will be on helping choristers to better their singing and listening skills, their music reading skills, and to enjoy camaraderie and good feelings in rehearsals as we prepare to support the worship services. Choir members will find that these music improvement skills are transferrable to any genre of music. We will work on proper breathing, singing on pitch, and good ensemble singing. It will be fun. Mrs. Fair often appears in singing roles in opera and oratorio and has an active private teaching studio in Chicago. She lives in the Norwood Park area of Chicago with her husband, son and two cats.
