Materials to make 1 ornament: (4) 5" x 5" main focus ornament fabric (2) 51/2" x 51/2"main focus ornament fabric(cut in half diagonally) (2) 41/2" x 71/2" accent circle fabric (4) 3" x 3" center diamond fabric (2) 2" x 71/2" ornament bands focus fabric (4) 5" x 5" background fabric (4) 4" x 51/2" background fabric QCR Mini©

2. Stack both 41/2" x 71/2" accent center circle fabric. Align sides under dashed “V” line on QCR Mini ruler. Using a 45mm rotary cutter, cut in curve cut-out, red dashed line, to create A shapes. Repeat on opposite diagonal corner as shown. See Sample 3.

Cutting with QCR Mini©:

1. Stack a few 5" squares, align adjoining sides under dashed “V” line on QCR Mini ruler. Using a 45mm rotary cutter, cut in curve cut-out, red dashed line, to create two shapes A and B. Repeat for all 5" squares. See Sample 1. le 1

Piecing the Curves:

1. Sew the following sets together:

2. Stack both 51/2" x 51/2" focus fabric triangles. Measure and mark 1/2" on both points and trim as shown. Position QCRM on fabric with curve cut-out on the 1/2" marks indicated by green arrows and cut in curve cut-out to make B pieces as shown in Sample 2.

2. Referring to the diagram, position A shape on B shape, RST, with a 1/2" of B extending beyond A. See Sample 4. 1/2"

3. Holding one shape in each hand slowly bring the curved edges together while stitching a 1/4" seam as they feed under the presser foot. Press seam toward focus fabric. Press on back and on front. Repeat above directions to make (12) AB sets. See Sample 5.

Squaring-up AB Shapes:

1. Square-up AB shapes to 4" x 4". Position QCR Mini on AB shape with the B part at the top right position. Leave 1/8" from curved seam to outer edge, see circles on diagram. See Sample 6. Trim side and top. Lift ruler, rotate block, reposition QCR Mini aligning previously trimmed edges with the 4" marks and trim side and top. Repeat for all AB shapes.

(4) Assembly: 1. Sew units with arrow as indicated and in order as numbered. Press seams open. Then sew units to form rows. Press seams open. Sew rows together. Press seams open. 1

Diamond Center:

1. Draw a diagonal line on wrong side of (4) 3" x 3" pieces. Position on AB unit with accent circle fabric as B part as shown in Sample 7. Stitch on drawn line. Trim fabric 1/4" from stitched line. Press seam open. Repeat to make (4) ABC units.
