REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS Design Professional, (Soda Hall Roof and Deck Waterproofing) The Berkeley Campus of the University of California requests that interested firms submit written proposals to provide design services for the following proposed project: Soda Hall CRP17 Roof/Deck Replacement Project No. 19619A Estimated Construction Cost: $2.3M This project will consist of replacement and repairs to facility roof and deck systems. Work will include Main and Penthouse roof, their associated rail, vent, drain, davit, curb and flashing systems, and parapet walls. Work will include all north facing decks, their associated drains, divider walls, davit system, storefront and parapet walls. SCOPE OF SERVICES • Bid Documents for Formal bid process •

Long form specifications to be incorporated into bid documents for projects with a construction value more than $100K.



Work with University stake holder team to assess program requirements, existing conditions, access issues, etc.



Full design services, through Construction Administration, including all sub-consultants.



Cost studies at relevant phases of design.



Provide a phasing plan/strategy to complete all improvements.

PROPOSAL CONTENT Proposal must not exceed 6 pages (excludes the attached “Summary Statement of Qualifications” Form) and shall provide sufficient information to allow the University to evaluate the Consultant’s approach, experience, staff and availability. Proposals shall include the following information: •

Discussion of Consultant’s approach to project



Description of completed roofing and waterproofing projects, including a client contact and phone number for (3) projects ranging from $500K to $2m in construction value.



Resumes of staff to be assigned to the projects and a statement regarding availability of staff to begin the projects. The respondent must submit proposals via email to [email protected]. Proposals must be submitted to arrive no later than 12:00 p.m. on September 30, 2016. Questions about the criteria requested for submittal may be directed to Project Manager Valerie Zylla, [email protected].

SELECTION PROCESS The University will review all proposals then select and rank the Consultants. The selection and ranking shall be based on the criteria listed above. The order in which the criterial appear does not indicate the importance, ranking or weighing that will be used in the evaluation. The University shall negotiate with the highest ranked Consultant of tasks, staffing, schedule and a maximum notto exceed fee. Negotiations may be formally terminated if they fail to result in a contract within a reasonable amount of time. Negotiations will then ensue with the second ranked Consultant, and if necessary, the third ranked Consultant.
