Design concrete mix for a structure exposed to ‘Severe’ conditions for following requirements : 20 Characteristic strength – 50 N/mm2 Coarse Aggregate 20 mm (crushed angular) Fine Aggregate – sand confirming to zone I of Table-4 of IS-383 Type of cement : OPC 43 grade conforming to IS 8112 Type of mineral admixture – Flyash confirming to IS 3812 (Part I) Degree of quality control – Good Type of exposure – Severe Degree of Workability – 100 mm (slump) Chemical admixtures – Super plasticizers @ 0.2% by mass of cement Specific gravity of cement, flyash, sand coarse aggregate 3.15, 2.20, 2.74 and 2.74 respectively. Moisture content in FA = 1.5% Moisture content in CA = 1.2%. 8.` Write short notes on (any four) : a) Durability of Concrete. b) High Density Concrete. c) Light Weight Concrete. d) Crack arrest mechanism in FRC. e) Quality Control Aspect of Ready Mix Concrete. ———————
