Statement of facts in case of Defendant Tricia Caparra The following information is derived from Santa Clara County Sheriff reports numbered 162480311G. From late 2015 until August 2016, Tricia Caparra was working as a Probation Counselor with the County of Santa Clara, assigned to the James Ranch, which housed juvenile wards who were incarcerated. John Doe was 17 years old, was a ward of the court, and was incarcerated at the Ranch from March 2016 until August 2016. During that time Tricia Caparra engaged in several sexual acts with John Doe, both at the Ranch and while he was on furlough and off-site. At the Ranch, Tricia Caparra and John Doe went into various locations three to four times and in those locations, they touched and rubbed each other’s genitals, over and under their clothing. On two occasions while off-site at a hotel and in a car, Tricia Caparra and John Doe engaged in sexual intercourse. These are felony violations of PC 289.6(a)(3) and PC 261.5(c). On one of those occasions Tricia Caparra orally copulated John Doe’s genitals. That is a felony violation of PC 288a(b)(1). John Doe II was 18 years old, was a ward of the court, and was incarcerated at the Ranch or was in the after-care program at the Ranch from January 2016 until August 2016. During that time Tricia Caparra engaged in sexual intercourse with John Doe II on at least 20 different occasions. These are felony violations of PC 289.6(a)(3). Also during that time, Tricia Caparra accessed Probation Dept. Records and Data to find out when John Doe II was scheduled to be drug tested, and she informed him in advance of those tests so that he was able to avoid any positive tests and avoided being remanded. This is felony violation of PC 502(c)(2).
