IF THE FIRE ALARM SOUNDS:
Everyone working for or visiting Greensward Academy is entitled to expect a safe and secure environment and to be able to carry out their business without fear of assault or intimidation.
(A continuous ringing of the bells) Please leave the building by the most direct route to assemble at the check point on the hard court area and report your presence to the Receptionist.
With the help of the police, we will actively pursue the prosecution of any person who threatens or assaults anyone, physically or verbally, or causes wilful damage to the Academy.

Should you require the assistance of a First Aider during your visit, please contact a member of staff who will direct you to Reception or telephone the Main Office on extension 2345.
Guidance for Visitors to Greensward Academy
Health & Safety Whilst on site, you are legally responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and the safety of others affected by your activities. If you have any concerns regarding health and safety, please raise it with a member of staff or reception who can then pass this information on to the relevant person to address. Greensward Academy is a No Smoking site.

Keeping Who Safe? Adults visiting or working on a school site play an important part in the life of a school, whether helping to build or maintain the building or visiting as part of the school’s wider community. We can all play a part in keeping children safe whilst working on or visiting a school site. This is whether you are directly employed by the school, or working as a contractor or subcontractor.

If you have any issues regarding Child Safety and protection, please let a member of staff know immediately.
Do ... Be aware that verbal interaction with students may be interpreted by them as offensive or as harassment, even if this was not your intention. Report any unacceptable behaviour from a student to the Principal or a Vice Principal in her absence. Be aware that contact made outside of the school environment as a result of you coming into contact with a student whilst you are on school site may have an impact on your employment or personal life.
Don’t ... Give or receive any personal information from a student (i.e. Name, address, telephone mobile number or email address). Accept physical or verbal abuse from a student. DO NOT respond yourself, but report it via the Reception staff to a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Instigate verbal or physical contact with students (on or off site) unless it is appropriate and a part of an agreed reason for your visit.
