The NFIR vide its proposalssentto Railway Board under lettersdated 0810212013 & 2211212014 have stressedthe needto issueguidelinesto the Zonal Railways/ProductionUnits for supply of Branded Quality Uniform to all the categoriesof staff covered under Dress Regulations.The Federationis however points out that the supply of sub-standardand nonbrandedquality of material is resultinghardshipsto staff leadingto resentment. In this context, NFIR enclosesa sampleof cloth said to be woolen measuringone squarefeet, currently being supplied to the staff belonging to public image categorjeslike Ticket Checking etc., NFIR feels sad to statethat the cloth suppliedis not only non-branded but also of poor quality whose colour fades away after 2 or 3 washings.NFIR desiresto mention that the staff who will be wearing the same, will not look presentablethus their appearance is not impactingthe travelling public. Federation, therefore, desires to re-iterate that it is the appropriate time for the Railway Board to come into action to remove these types of snags and rectify the deficiencies.
