Film Overview
This short film is about a young girl who has an unhealthy obsession with a boy in her school (hence the name Stalker). Her obsession becomes so extreme she kidnaps him. The film is about the boys friends trying to find out where he has gone, which ultimately leads to a confrontation resulting in the girl killing the boy. This is the reasoning behind the logline ‘Infatuation’, which means a short lived obsession.
Characters & Possible Actors • Abi- A 16-18 year old girl, who is the main antagonist within the short film. She is different, with low level autism, and doesn’t really have any close friends. • Tyler-A 16-18 year old boy, who is the main protagonist within the short film. He is a lot more normal, he cares about his friends and has a very confident persona about him. • Luke- Also 16-18 years old, he is Tyler’s best friend, he isn’t very academically inclined, however knows not to take himself seriously and likes to joke • Sophie- Also a 16-18 year old, she acts more boyish as her two closest friends are boys, but deep down is quite girly. She is comparatively very mature and also has a very short fuse.
Possible Film Locations • The majority of the short film is based within a school, so for this we will be using Ilkley Grammar School as our school, almost purely for easy access and little restrictions. • Two bedrooms (Tyler’s & Abi’s) • A estate street. • A basement
The Styles We Will Be Using In Our Film • The genre of our film is Thriller. • The film has a creepy style, but realistic enough for the audience to picture themselves in the same situation, amplifying the creepy effect of the film. • Examples of Films with a similar style to ours: Obsessed, Fatal Attraction
Our Target Audience
• Our target audience is people of the ages 15 and above. • Mainly focus upon teenagers, leaning more towards a female target audience, however we still feel as thought the thriller nature of the film would still make the film engaging for males.
Our Marketing Techniques & Intentions • We intend to film a trailer and come up with several different posters.
• However we intend to make our main means of advertisement through the different Social Medias, as this is a more realistic way of getting the attention & selling our idea to our target audience.
