PLANTS IN THIS TUNDRA Did you know that not a lot of animals can't survive in the Tundra? In the Tundra there's something called permafrost which means "Frozen soil"also in the Tundra it's called the super refrigerator and it's 1,000 feet deep. Some plants use sap as their natural antifreeze. In the tundra there are shallow roots because of the top layer of permafrost. Also some plants live in small groups low to the ground.
THE ANIMALS IN THE TUNDRA
Did you know that not a lot of animals can survive in the Tundra? A lot of animals have to have special adaptations. Caribou have special hooves to walk through the thick snow and so they can go through mud too and they also have thick fur for the winter.
Very few mammals can live in the Tundra. A lot of the animals that live in the Tundra need to have thick fur and feathers and blubber. Most of the animals that live in the Tundra breed and raise the babies quickly. Many animals need to migrate for food in Autumn. Like one of the birds I know The ArcticTern people say the Arctic Tern is the best travler. Also the Arctic Fox has small ears to keep the warmth.

THE CLIMATE IN THE TUNDRA I think what you need to know is that the climate in the Tundra is always cold. I know that the temperature in the Tundra can get as low as -93,the climate can also make it so theres10 inch./ 25cm/rain/year. And in the tundra the sun stays out all night long it's called"The land of the midnight sun. Also the summers are short and the winters long. And in the tundra their are many words for snow. In the Tundra the wind can get to 60 mph.

FUN FACTS In the Tundra you would sometimes need snowshoes because the Tundra can get a lot of snow. Sometimes Camouflage helps some of the predators sneak up on their prey. Also their are two kinds of tundras there's the Alpine Tundra and the Arctic Tundra. The Tundra is the largest Biome, Tundra means land of no trees. Tundra is located at northern parts of Europe and Asia also Antarctica. The Alpine Tundra is in the mountains,also in the Tundra you can get frost bite in less the 30 seconds.
