The Warrior News, formerly known as The Warrior Weekly began as a class project for a student in the fall of 2004. With careful planning and the addition of other interested students, the first issue of The Warrior Weekly went on sale on Tuesday, October 26, 2004. Since that issue, the publication has expanded and continued to adapt to the changing times of school life. During the 2005-2006 school year, The Warrior Weekly became a class within a group of classes called "Exploratory Classes." These classes were established to allow students to learn more about different topics. At the end of each grading period, the groups would rotate out of one class and into another. During that year, The Warrior Weekly, had six newspaper staffs, each with a different tone and approach to the publication. In the fall of 2006, The Warrior Weekly returned to its one staff per year. It also became a separate entity that was published through the efforts of the Journalism Club. The club met regularly (usually weekly before school started) to go over topics and assemble the paper. In the fall of 2010, the newspaper changed its name to The Warrior News. At that time, the publication schedule changed from weekly to twice a month. This change allowed for more in-depth articles about topics of interest for the students, as well as the faculty members. As of the fall of 2013, The Warrior News became an online paper that can be accessed through the school website. Print copies will be available upon request. This change helps with the cost of paper and printing supplies and allows for more rapid updates than with print copies alone.
