MilieuChemTox symposium + MCT PhD thesis award

7 November 2014 Harnessing geothermal heat, shale gas production, thermal energy storage and other currently evolving techniques are relying on the underground as a host of resources or as a storage place. Assessing the environmental, toxicological, and geochemical implications of these new applications confronts users, authorities and researchers with challenging questions. Experts from various fields will present examples of these emerging questions related to the toxicology of underground fauna, shale gas production, and more.

Morning session: Keynotes on As groundwater contamination, shale gas, protection of groundwater organisms Young Scientists Poster Session during lunch: Poster session for young scientists (BSc/MSc/PhD students) The best poster of a BSc/MSc student will be awarded a prize of €100,-! Afternoon session: Presentations by 6 PhD thesis award nominees PhD and poster prize awarding Closure and drinks Registration & Poster submission: Register before 31 October by sending an e-mail to [email protected] BSc/MSc students with poster: free Members MCT, KNCV, NVT, Deltares, TNO: €20 Non-members: €30 -> cash payment at entrance
