JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides academic and career coaching, case management, college transition services and referral services. Knowledge of College/University policies and procedures. Assess Career Tech and Titan College student cohort’s academic abilities and level of career decision focus based on their previous academic record, and Placement Assessment results (Compass, ACT or SAT). ACT Work Keys and Web Exam Industry Credential administrator. Ensures proper course selection, academic load and career resource connections to achieve Career Tech and Titan College student cohort’s career and academic goals in light of labor market skill demands. Provides a continuum of coaching and advising and communicates with Career Tech and Titan College student cohort’s regularly via face-to-face meetings, as well as other vehicles to ensure persistence. Serves as first line crisis intervention for students having emotional distress and personal issues and makes appropriate referrals to crisis intervention counselors. Aides in referrals for psychological testing. Helps Career Tech and Titan College student cohort’s plan for career transition and connects them with related resources to engage students in mentoring, internships and employment readiness skills. 
 Assist with college admissions and FAFSA. Assists in documenting, recording, tracking and reporting Career Tech and Titan College student cohort’s progress and success and provides timely reports. Knowledge of high school graduation requirements. Maintain knowledge of general college requirements. Provides transcripts upon request. 
 Provides orientation information for Career Tech and Titan College student’s new to Lorain Middle/Junior/Senior high school. Assist with application process for Career Tech and Titan College student cohort.

Titan College Career and Academic Advisor Provides information on community resources. Provides pertinent information via newsletters, newspapers, programs, etc. to parents in areas such as scheduling, orientation and community resources. Provides consultant services for teachers and other pupil personnel specialists. Provides for individual conferences with parents. Facilities parent/teacher conferences, information nights and recruitment for Career Tech and Titan College student cohort. Assist with planning and chaperoning of Career Tech and Titan College student cohort trips.
