Dear Director SAN ANTONIO: The University of the Philippines Baguio (UPB), through its Cordillera Studies Center (CSC), will hold the 2nd International Conference on Cordillera Studies (ICCS2) on 12-14 uIy 2017 at the CAP John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Baguio City, Philippines. This conference will address the general theme, "Indigenous Studies in the Philippines: Issues and Prospects." We envision this event as a venue for the presentation and discussion of comparative Indigenous Studies, highlighting recent research and various theoretical approaches and methodologies within and across disciplines. This conference aims to foster collaborative work among acadeics, local and national government agencies, civil society. and communities in the Cordillera, Northern Luzon, and tie Philippines. Among the highlights of the conference are plenary presentations from noted scholars of Indi g enous Studies, namely: Prof. Dr. Deirdre McKay of Keele University in England; Dr. Albert S. Bacdayan, a native of Sagada and former chairperson of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kentucky; and former UP Pr fessor of Law and current Supreme Court Associate Justice Atty. Marvic Mario Victor F. Leonen. Some 151 paper presentations have been organized into 40 panels in what promises to be an exciting gathering of scholars, cademics, and enthusiasts interested in

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORDI OF THE PHILIPPINES-BAGUIO, COR
The University of the Philippines-Baguio (U B), through its Cordillera Studies Center (CSC), will hold its 2nd International Conference on Cordillera Studies with the theme Indigenous Studies in the Philippines: Issues and Prospects from July 12 to 14, 2017 at the CAP John Hay Trade and Culture Centet, Baguio City. The Conference aims to: I. promote debate and identify directions on how Indigenous Studies, as a distinct field of inquiry, can be established and consolidated in the Philippines; and I 2. foster collaborative work between academics, local and national government agencies, civil society, and cmmunities in the Cordillera, Northern Luzon, and the Philippines. The target participants are teachers who a re involved in Indigenous Peoples Education and related DepEd programs in the Philip 3ines. Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepE .
