Small-Time Crooks You are serving as a guard for a small village. You volunteered for this job because your home has been have problems with small monsters coming in homes and stealing from unsuspecting families. Worse, anyone that has attempted to attack the monsters have met an ill fate. But the creatures seem to appear and disappear without a trace, often only leaving a trail of clay behind or seen flying away. Action must be taken so many of the elf-men have gained some courage to face the small but deadly monsters. You agreed to the challenge, knowing you possibly have some advantage against these beings. You have used to power of the mind to strengthen the body. Perhaps you will be able to stand against the creatures. Allow Player to decide where they are patrolling. Use one of the below descriptions that closest matches their choice. 1. Alley Ways. You decide to explore the quieter side streets around the village. Perhaps this is how the little monsters are sneaking into town. Roll: Wis Perception, DC 13 . Pass continue to “Result A”. Fail, continue searching. 2. Main Streets. It seems odd to stay on the main roads but you can quickly peek down alleys and into many homes and stores. It covers a lot of ground so you may perhaps spot the creatures. Roll: Wis Perception, DC 15 . Pass continue to “Result B”. Fail, continue searching. 3. Business Owner Homes. Perhaps since the monsters are stealing, it would be good to check the wealthier homes. But your efforts are met by other hired men that are getting paid to guard the upper class homes. They are likely safe so you continue your search elsewhere. 4. Commoner Homes. You recall that many of the attacks have been in small homes. Perhaps it is best to protect the common people. Roll: Wis Perception, DC 12 . Pass continue to “Result A”. Fail, continue searching. Result A. As you peek down the now passages between buildings/homes, you notice something that looks like a small squirrel sitting on a window. At least, you think it is a squirrel until it begins to fly and gnaw at the hinges! You rush forward to make an attack! Result B. Your quick search pattern has paid off. You suddenly seek what first appears to be birds or bats, but soon realize they are not! They are flying swiftly and begin to split up to several builds and are trying to get in. Now is your chance!
