Cube Characters: Linear algebra is the study of a certain algebraic structure and sets of equation and their transformation properties. Linear Equations are especially useful in algebra. By using my historical connections, and my better understanding of the background behind my project I can now understand algebra in a whole new way. What’s the Math behind it? The subjects that we are using in this project are What is the cube character? For my project I will be creating an activity for my peers using paper cubes labeled with mathematical equations and their respective answers to create a sort of "bit-type", 3D image. The activity will allow all participants to examine inequalities, linear equations, non-linear equations, and quadratic equations, sharpening our mathematical capabilities and refining our social skills. Big Historical Connections I chose to do the History Connections because I was interested in the background history of Linear equations. It helps to know the background of your project and all of its history so you have a better understanding of what you’re doing. Linear equations were invented by William Rowan Hamilton. He introduced the linear equations in 1843, these equations are an important history discovery because they describe mechanics in three dimensional space.

The math is implemented by writing the questions and answers on separate cubes, and combining them to get your final image. Why does it matter? This project embodies the spirit of mathematics and engineering. I believe that with math, engineering, and effort, true art may be created. This project relates best to algebra by making the process of solving equations feel more rewarding. It allows people to see that everything connects to math, in some way shape or form.
