10. With reference to the capacitive tranducers, what is meant by differential arrangement? (3) PART – B (50 Marks) 11.a) Derive and explain the mathematical model of a series RLC circuit. b) What are standard test signals? Explain with figures. 12. Derive the frequency response for a first order system with a) unit step input and b) unit ramp input. 13.a) Give the constructional details of a potentiometer. b) A linear resistance potentiometer is 75 mm long and has a resistance of 10 KΩ. The slide is at the center of the potentiometer. Find the linear displacement if the resistance of the potentiometer is (i) 1190Ω (ii) 6051Ω.

14.a) Derive the expression for the gauge factor of a strain gauge. b) A strain gauge beam is 0.25 m long and has a cross-sectional area of 0.6x10-4 m2. The young’s modulus of steel is 207 GN/m2. The strain gauge has an unstrained resistance of 240 Ω and a gauge factor of 2.2. When the load is applied, the gauge resistance changes by 0.1 Ω. Calculate the change in length of the beam.
