2016 market times
Saturday mornings, rain or shine: Vendor set-up begins at 6 a.m. All vendors must be on site by 7:15 a.m. Open to the public 7:30 to noon/sell-out Location cleared by 1 p.m.
2016 market dates
May 21st through October 22nd (23 weeks) Grand opening: June 4th The July 16th market may be at a nearby, alternate location to accommodate the Nodaway County Fair
Products
Locally grown and locally made products, including produce, plants, flowers and herbs, value-added food products, and artisan crafts

Entertainment, educational events, and information from not-forprofit organizations
Fees
$10 per week beginning June 4th (no fee 5/21 or 5/28) Pre-pay for 21 weeks for $8 a week (6/4-10/22 for $168)
Marketing
Marketing will, at a minimum, include weekly display ads in The Maryville Daily Forum and The Post, radio promotion, placement on “community calendars,” yard signs, a web page, and social media.
Proceeds
Proceeds from 2016 set up fees will be used to establish an operating budget for future seasons.
Policies Acceptable Products Agriculture products grown or gathered within 100 miles of Maryville that: o Are grown or gathered by the vendor or by someone known to the vendor o Comply with applicable health codes o Can be legally sold Value-added food products that: o Are made by the vendor or an individual known to the vendor o Comply with applicable health codes o Can be legally sold Art, handmade, or “repurposed” items that: o Are being sold by the person who created or crafted the item o Are not mass produced or imported o Are appropriate for a “family friendly” setting Stall Size and Locations The set-up fee will entitle a vendor to a space at least the size of one parking space Vendors who pre-pay for the season will be assigned to the same location in the market each week with assignments determined by vendor preference, with random drawing to determine placement if necessary Pre-paid locations not occupied by 6:45 a.m. on the day of the market may be reassigned to other vendors for the day Safety Guidelines All tables and tents should be weighted or otherwise secured Motor vehicles in the market area must be parked with the engine off throughout operating hours Each vendor shall maintain clean and sanitary conditions within their assigned area and shall leave the area free of debris prior to closing for the market day No smoking will be permitted in the market area Local, State, and Federal Laws Vendors are responsible for compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including (but not limited to) those related to health code and taxation Liability General market operations are covered under a group liability insurance policy provided by the sponsor Vendor participation represents an agreement to assist in protecting the sponsor from legal or financial liability created by accidents or incidents at the market The group policy does not cover liability for products or services of individual vendors (though an individual policy is not required for participation) Signage All vendors are required to display prices for each available product Vendors are encouraged to display signage with: o The name and location of their operation o Other locations their products are available
Product Pricing Each vendor sets their own prices, evaluating customer demand and consideration for other vendors’ pricing. Vendor Application Process All vendors must complete the “Vendor Application” First-time vendors who will only be selling agriculture and food items must submit the application before 8 a.m. on the Thursday prior to the first Saturday they set up First-time vendors selling art, handmade, and repurposed items must submit the application and related photos at least one week before the first Saturday they set up The Maryville Farmers Market organizing committee may request additional information to verify that products will be consistent with the acceptable products listed above The Maryville Farmers Market organizing committee may decline an application if any responses suggest products or vendor behavior will not be consistent with Market policies
