The Light of Consecration
Lighting of the Advent Candle—Barbara Parker, Erica and Tom Cecich Last Sunday we lit the candle of Hope, remembering the hope which comes in Christ. Today we light the second candle of Advent, the candle of Peace. God has a peace-filled dream for the world and invites us to dream as well—to dream of a peaceful world where people come together, where war is a memory, and where we eat at one table. Wherever there is distrust between people, in families or in our own hearts, God is present and leading us to imagine new ways of living in peace. Today we remember the Christ who brings peace beyond all understanding.
