2016 DIVISION METROBANK-MTAP-DEPED MATH CHALLENGE Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Chiefs, CID, SGOD District Supervisors School Heads, Public and Private Elementary and Secondary Schools All Others Concerned

1. Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 141 s. 2015, the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MFI), Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) will hold the 2016 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge. Relative to this, the Schools Division of Dasmarinas, Dasmarinas City will hold 2015 Division Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge on the following dates and venues at 8:00 a.m.

2. The overall objective of the competition is to contribute in improving the quality of Mathematics education in the Philippines. Specifically, it aims to:

•

a. awaken greater interest in Mathematics among elementary and secondary students from both public and private schools; b. encourage them to strive for excellence in Mathematics; c. encourage them to master basic mathematics skills; d. discover mathematical talents among the students e. develop in them the values of hard work, perseverance, honesty. teamwork, and sportsmanship; and f. provide them with opportunities in leadership and cooperative undertaking. 3. Guidelines and Registration Forms (MMC document No. 2) are contained in the inclosures for reference. 4. All public and private schools are required to accomplish a one page registration form contained in inclosure No. 3 duly certified by the principal/registrar which indicates the school's official contestants and coaches/trainers per grade level. The schools must present the original copy to the registration- in-charge during the Elementary Elimination Round on February 4, 2015 or February 5, 2015 for High School. This serves as permit in joining the competition. No permit, No Entry Policy shall be implemented. 5. No registration fee will be collected. 6. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
