Board of Education

Welcome to another exciting year in the Vineland Public Schools! We strive to facilitate the educational, physical, social and emotional growth of our culturally diverse population and to prepare students for life in the twenty-first century. Our comprehensive educational programs provide all children with opportunities to excel in a wide variety of academic and extra-curricular areas. The accomplishments of our students are a tribute to their talents and the dedication of our teachers and staff, but it is also a reflection of actively involved parents and guardians. We seek the very best education for all students despite ever-present economic challenges. We promote and facilitate a spirit of respect, cooperation and open communication within our supportive community. We encourage parental and guardian participation in our schools through consistent and fruitful dialogue between parents and staff. This calendar/handbook details important information about our district including the many activities we present and the convenient methods to receive information. You are encouraged to plan your family calendar with our convenient and comprehensive school and district websites which include dates and times of our annual and special events. It is my hope that you will participate in many of the programs which are created to highlight and encourage the achievements of your children. It is only through cooperation and communication that schools and communities can be partners in providing the very best for all students. On behalf of my fellow board members, I want to extend a warm welcome to our students, their families, and our staff to another school year. The successes of our students in academics, extracurricular programs and athletics are a source of great pride to all of us, and I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as the president of the Vineland Board of Education. As board members, we strive to continue providing the resources that meet the needs of ALL of our students, so they may achieve at the highest level possible. We are committed to ensuring that our students have safe and secure buildings with a highly-trained staff, well-equipped classrooms, and state-of-the-art technology. We are also keenly aware of the fiscal obstacles we face in a difficult economy, and funding from outside sources that do not fully meet all of our needs. We will do our best to deal with those challenges, and have a district that is well managed and successful. We invite the participation of all members of the community, which is extremely important in helping us with our efforts. Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the district administrative building at 625 Plum Street. The public work sessions are held on the first Wednesday of every month at the same time and location. We look forward to seeing you. Best wishes to all for a safe and successful school year!

Administrative and supervisory staff includes assistant principals at the elementary, intermediate and secondary levels, as well as the supervisors of instruction for all levels. The supervisors provide support to all the schools in curriculum, supervision, guidance, health and safety, physical education, special education for students with disabilities, and Pupil Advisory Committees. They also monitor instruction in mathematics, science, social studies, reading, language arts, gifted/talented/creative, English as a Second Language, bilingual education, technology, world languages, earlychildhood education and each area of the school program. General Information Food Service Vineland Public Schools participates in the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program and the After School Snack Program. These federally funded programs allow the district to provide nutritious, low cost meals to all students, regardless of income. The district food service office is located at the Thomas W. Wallace, Jr. Middle School, 688 N. Mill Road, Vineland, NJ 08360. The Food Service phone numbers are: (856) 794-6700, extensions 2202 or 2204. This is the site of our state-of-the-art central kitchen, which opened in 2006. Important Information: • If your child has a food allergy that can be life threatening, please provide a doctor's note to the school nurse so that necessary substitutions can be made. • If you want to limit the snacks your child chooses, we can put a message on our pointof-sale system. Please call the cafeteria at your child’s school. The message will display when your child goes through the serving line. • Menus and meal applications are available online at www.vineland.org. Menus are also printed in the Daily Journal newspaper each week. If you have any questions about your child’s meals, account or our department, call your child’s school or the Food Service Department at (856) 794-6700, extensions 2202 or 2204.

Snacks are served at no charge to all students in academic after-school programs.

School Closings School closings, delayed openings and early dismissals because of poor weather conditions are broadcast on Vineland’s local Channel 9 on the Comcast Cable TV Network and Channel 41 on Verizon FiOS. The information is also available immediately on our website: http://www.vineland.org. Parents, guardians and students who have their numbers on file with the district will also receive an automated phone message with up to date information. The decision to close schools early is weighed carefully, since we understand that many parents work and do not expect their children home until the regular time. If poor weather is imminent, please make prior arrangements with your children about where they should go if dismissed early. On days when school opens late, breakfast will NOT be served. The last regular school day for pupils will be on June 15, 2017. If days are lost because of bad weather, extreme heat or other reasons, additional days will be added to the June calendar until June 22. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy The following policy has been endorsed by Vineland Public Schools central administration and Board of Education for Preschool through grade 12. The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program will begin in September 2016. The program will permit all students, preschool through 12, to bring their own internet-enabled devices to school. The use of these devices is completely voluntary. What is the BYOD program? Several school systems that have implemented a BYOD policy have identified numerous benefits to students and staff. These include preparing students for college and career, appealing to the learning styles of 21st century learners, fostering student ownership of their own learning, allowing real-time access to information, providing easier access to online instructional materials, supplementing school resources and equipment, and facilitating the transition between home and school resources. Students may use an electronic device to complete in-class activities, check the Student Portal, complete homework, collaborate in real-time, research for projects, access websites with curriculum-related content, keep track of classroom assignments, take notes, compose, and complete other approved instructional activities to enhance learning. During non-instructional time, students may use their devices in accordance with VPS guidelines, unless otherwise directed by staff members. Acceptable Devices and Usage Students may use any device that falls into the category of "electronic device" used for educational purposes ultimately approved by the classroom instructor. Any type of phone, tablet, netbook or laptop can be used. However, the device must be able to connect wirelessly to the district’s wireless network. Providing a padded bag or protective sleeve or cover is suggested. This will provide more protection for the day to day use of these computing devices. The device's battery charge should be sufficient for lessons requiring use of the device throughout the day. "Charging stations" will not be provided. These devices will be purchased by and remain the property of the family. The Vineland Public Schools takes no responsibility to search for lost or stolen devices nor is there

any assumption of financial responsibility by The Vineland Public Schools for damaged, lost or stolen personal computing devices. The district provides a wireless “guest” network which students may connect to while using their devices in the building. Additionally, students may use an Internet connection from an outside provider. In this case, the family will be responsible for any expense incurred using this type of Internet connection. The Children’s Internet Protection Act requires all network access to be filtered, regardless of the device being used, while in a public school. Students own their devices, but the network belongs to the school, and Internet access will be filtered. No software needs to be purchased. The district uses Google Docs to store student work. Students will be able to use these capabilities rather than purchasing additional software. All students will be required to sign the Acceptable

Use Policy at the beginning of the school year. Parents/guardians are also required to read and sign the agreement. BYOD Violations and Consequences Classroom staff has the ultimate control over when and what type of electronic devices are used in the classroom. Disciplinary action, as outlined in the Vineland Public Schools Code of Conduct shall be taken when a student fails to follow the directions of a staff member regarding portable electronic devices or if reasonable belief exists that the student has violated the terms of the Acceptable Use Procedures and Guidelines or other school policy. If a student is not following the BYOD guidelines, the Acceptable Use Policy, or teacher direction for the use of a personally owned device, an administrator may revoke the privilege through the regular discipline process. Curriculum Vineland Public Schools offers its students a rich, challenging and comprehensive curriculum, from pre-kindergarten through adult opportunities. The curriculum is designed to provide students with many learning experiences that will enable them to succeed and to attain fulfillment. Preschool High Scope is a highly researched and state approved early childhood curriculum that is aligned to all state standards. It is an academically based program that focuses on nine content areas Primary Level Beginning at the primary level, a strong core of academics forms the foundation of a student's education in Vineland. This includes state-of-the-art programs in literacy/language arts, mathemat-ics, science, social studies and world languages. Intermediate Level At the intermediate level, grades 6-8, students encounter an increasingly challenging curricu-lum. The emphasis on academics continues with the core of literacy/language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, physical education/health/safety, art, music, and applied technology. High School The curriculum at Vineland High School is one of the most comprehensive programs available to students. Advanced placement courses are available in English, mathematics, science, social studies, computer science, and world language, and the elective program offers a rich variety of courses to meet virtually every career or life goal of students. Vineland is a pilot district for the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy certifies graduating seniors as college and career ready in English and a language other than English. Since the inception of the program in 2013, 70 VHS seniors have been awarded this honor. Vineland High School has made a major commitment to educational technology. Thus, numer-ous computer laboratories and media centers with state of the art equipment allow students to use the latest technology to become 21st century learners. In partnership with Cumberland County College, students may take dual credit courses giving high school and college credit. Vineland High School students now have the opportunity to take part in the Air Force Junior ROTC Program. The objectives of JROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizen-ship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, self-discipline and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals. Curriculum Process The curriculum of the Vineland Public Schools is reviewed and revised on a regular basis within a 5-year Quality Assurance Cycle. During this cycle, committees made up of teachers, administrators, parents and community representatives study each curriculum area, review and research the most successful programs nationwide, and recommend changes to assure that the curriculum meets the needs of students and society. The cycle includes five stages: Review, Development, Pilot, Implementation and Evaluation.

Educational Programs The following innovative programs will be initiated or continued in the school year: ▪ Literacy - a comprehensive state-of-the-art literacy/ language arts program in grades K-8; ▪ Mathematics - Everyday Mathematics is implemented in K-5 classrooms; Connected Math in 6-8 classrooms. ▪AP Tutorials - Eleven Advanced Placement courses are offered with corresponding tutorials provided in the spring of the year; ▪ Programs with Rowan University to improve the quality of instruction in mathematics and science; ▪ Sheltered Instruction training - providing teachers with the skills to meet the differentiated needs of all learners ▪ Technological Literacy - a multitude of program offerings throughout the district develop knowledge and skills needed for computers and other technologies for the 21st century. Applied Math and Science Academy The Vineland Public School District created the Applied Math & Science Academy (AMSA) in 2014 to enhance the interest and cultivate the growth of students in the Math, Technology, and Science fields. The curriculum for the program was developed to be highly rigorous and facilitate academic growth and creativity. For the 2015-2016 school year, the program has expanded and will now include students in Grades 5 through 8. The 5th grade program is at Petway Elementary School and Grades 6 through 8 are at Veterans Memorial School.

School Counseling/Family Resources The heart of the Vineland Public Schools Student Personnel Services program for grades pre-K to adult is the staff of trained professionals who are committed to serving the needs of the district's students. School counselors are care-givers who afford assistance in a student's social and personal life. They are advisors for a student's academic and career choices. Their work enhances student performance through interventions that solve or ease problems that could negatively impact the achievement of the student. Counselors Can Help Elementary counselors bring social/emo-tional, academic and career counseling to our youngest students. A myriad of guidance activities fall within the domain of the elementary counselor. Self-esteem and self-insight are issues, which begin to be addressed in the elementary guidance program. Parenting support is offered to families through the counselors' skills. Counselors work in a variety of settings in the elementary school. They perform individ-ual counseling, group counseling and classroom instruction. They lead the elementary character education program. Middle School counselors accent positive interaction among young adolescents. Through group work, classroom presentations and one-on-one counseling, counselors team with adolescents to assist them in dealing with the wide range of feelings and biological changes which bombard them on every front. Career insights are fostered. Academics are stressed and counselors intercede with strategies that improve student performance.

High school counselors are academic advisors. They deal with appropriate course selection for long-range goal achievement. Students receive academic, personal and career advice. Each student's uniqueness is recognized and fostered. Health and social service coordinators complement Vineland's family of counselors. These social workers provide mental health counseling, family outreach, parent educational opportunities and networking with community social service agencies for our students and their families. They afford our students the availability of more pro-found counseling intercessions and enhanced community referral opportunities. Student Assistance Counselors SACs provide assessment, intervention and referral services to students and families who have drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse issues. SACs are available at the high school level and service other levels when needed. They expand our services such that they provide specific and directed intercessions by specially trained professionals to children who have these issues in their lives or in the lives of family members. The Affective Team ("A" Team), a team of trained professionals, provides intercessions for troubled youth by collaborating and case managing possible solutions/ interces-sions to alleviate a student's crisis and to maximize academic success.

Special Education The Special Education program in Vineland is an extensive and comprehensive program which services approximately 1,900 students, 200 of whom only receive Speech and Language services. The Special Education programs are designed for children who are eligible for special educa-tion and related services under one of the following categories: Auditorily Impaired, Autistic, Cognitively Impaired, Communication Impaired, Emotionally Disturbed, Multiply Disabled, Orthopedically Impaired, Other Health Impaired, Preschool Child with a Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Traumatic Brain Injury, or Visually Impaired. The Special Education program is a support program to the general education program. The Common Core State Standards form the basis of the special education curriculum and are adapted and modified to meet the needs of individual students. Special education services are provided in the general education classroom, the resource room, and in self-contained programs. Before/After School Program The YMCA School Age Care program extends your child’s learning day in a fun and meaningful way! With a focus on character development and healthy living, children experience academic, physical, and social activities, under the supervision of positive, caring role models. Parents enjoy peace of mind knowing their school-age children have safe, healthy options before and after school - right in their child’s school. Afterschool Programs provide academic intervention, healthy activities, and enrichment opportunities throughout the school year, boosting their grades and reducing their risk-taking behaviors. Our program runs at all nine Vineland Elementary Schools, Rossi Middle School, Wallace Middle School, and a program at the Y (Veterans Memorial students would attend the Y program). Children will participate in the YMCA’s Healthy U program, sponsored by the Horizon Foundation. This program promotes nutrition education, non-competitive physical education, improved self-esteem, and strong involvement. Other programs included are the Y’s Achievement Gap and STEM programs. The Achievement Gap is designed to support academic and physical development, and also build social and emotional skills for children. STEM Education attempts to transform the typical teacher-centered classroom by encouraging a curriculum that is driven by problem-solving, discovery, hands-on learning, and require students to actively engage in order to find solutions. The program operates from 7:00am to 6:00pm at all nine elementary schools and both middle schools. There are options for services before school, after school, or both. Enrollment is on a monthly basis. The program will continue to operate during half day schedules, as well as delayed openings and early dismissals due to the weather. The program is licensed through the state of New Jersey. Prior to hiring, all staff must meet a rigorous background investigation. All staff are trained and experienced. School Uniform Policy The following standards of dress have been endorsed by Vineland Public Schools central administration and Board of Education for Preschool through grade 12. At the beginning of each day students are to be checked for attendance and proper uniforms. What are the uniform options? • Black or Khaki pants—in a solid, single color. Pants may be pleated or flat in front, should be full length, appropriately fastened and sit appropriately at the waist. Pants may be made of cotton, canvas, corduroy, linen, polyester or twill. • Belts are optional, but if worn they must be black or brown. • Skirts and jumpers may be khaki or black, in a solid, single color. They must be at least mid-thigh in length. • Shorts and capri’s may be in khaki or black, in a solid, single color. Shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length. • Tops may be white, black or red collared shirts in a solid, single color. Tops may be long or short sleeved. (Sleeveless collared shirts will be acceptable during warmer weather– September and June) Tops may be worn either tucked inside pants or on the outside, as long as they are appropriately sized and fitted. No sheer shirts are permitted — no clothing that is either revealing or provocative. Clothing must be clean and not ragged, ripped, frayed or contain holes. • Undershirts and tank tops may be white, black or red and may only be worn under appropriately buttoned tops. • Cardigans and sweaters may be white, black or red in a single, solid color. All must be worn over a collared shirt. • Footwear includes athletic shoes, loafers, boots, dress shoes, or other closed toed/closed heel shoes. Other Acceptable Attire: • Appropriate Vineland athletic attire, as well as school and club/activity shirts may be worn on Fridays • Board approved nationally recognized youth organization attire, such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, will be acceptable forms of attire on the days of scheduled meetings by the organizations. • ROTC polo shirts are acceptable attire on the days when the cadets are not in their ROTC uniform. Early Childhood Research has demonstrated that high-quality preschool education programs for children provide a link between home and school environments that can foster mutual educational expectations for school readiness. High-quality early childhood educa-tion programs offer school districts an opportunity to enhance children's readiness to learn and develop skills by providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Children benefit from these experiences as they build important academic and social skills that lead to higher levels of academic success. IMPACT The IMPACT program is a joint venture of The City of Vineland, Vineland Public Schools, Inspira Medical Centers, The Vineland Department of Health, Cumberland County College, The N.J. Department of Human Services, the N.J. Department of Children and Families, and The N.J. Department of Education. The IMPACT Program offers many services to both community children and their families which include child care, preschool, literacy, parent education and health and social services, as well as prenatal care to pregnant and parenting teens. The infant-to-five year old program provides quality, affordable infant and child care staffed by early childhood teachers, convenient hours for working parents; plus enrichment

activities such as language skills, music and physical activities. The health center provides services with medical professionals on site. Athletics The Athletic Department at Vineland High School is proud of the accomplishments of the Class of 2016. Many of our graduating Student Athletes from the class of 2016 signed National Letters of intent to participate in their sport in college. Among the colleges selected were; Syracuse University, NJIT, George Washington University, Temple University, Rider University, and St. John’s University. Vineland High School is eagerly looking forward to the start of the 2016-2017 school year. The Athletic Department has been working on schedules for our student-athletes in the seasons ahead and our focus is directed to three goals: • create schedules that are very competitive; • place our student-athletes in high profile venues; and • schedule our games in a way that will connect our athletic program to the community as much as possible and increase attendance for as many of our contests as possible. The Athletic Department at Vineland High School takes great pride in the high level of athleticism of the young people on our teams. But we are most proud of the sportsmanship that our student-athletes display while participating in their individual games and meets. The coaching staff at Vineland High School also devotes a great deal of time and effort into building and continuing their programs’ success. It is a goal of the Athletic Department that we, as a whole, participate in local service projects to give back to the community that has given so much to our student-athletes. This year, the Athletic Department had more athletic events aired on Channel 9 on the Comcast Cable TV Network than ever before. Our programs are also seen on Verizon FiOS  Channel 41.

The Athletic Department’s “Coach’s Corner” talk show completed its eighth season this year, providing an in-depth look at each sport through interviews with the coaches. These half-hour programs were augmented with video and graphics to give viewers as much information as possible about the student-athletes and their accomplishments. Often, there was an “Athlete of the Week” award presentation, and several times the program moved out of the studio to show student-athletes signing college letters of intent, as well as share vital information about the involvement of the school guidance department, and where and how to access NCAA clearing house data. In 2016-2017, the Athletic Department and VPS Broadcasting will again be working together on a daily basis to ensure the greatest possible local TV coverage for our student-athletes. The Athletic Department at Vineland High School has committed itself to being involved in numerous community service projects. In recent years, our student athletes have participated in the following service initiatives: • Read Across America • Partnered with the Vineland Rotary Club to bring Challenger Baseball to the area; • Officially adopted the league team as their Baseball Buddies • Participated in the Pan Can Run • Tiny Tim Caroling; Looking to the future with excitement and optimism, while still rooted in the deep tradition that over 130 years of graduating classes have worked so hard to create during their time at Vineland High School, it is the opinion of the Vineland High School Athletic Department that the state of our department is healthy, growing and always focused on creating great opportunities for our student-athletes.

Integrated Pest Management Policy The New Jersey School Integrated Pest Management Act of 2002 requires school districts to implement a school integrated pest management policy that includes an Integrated Pest Management Plan. In accordance with the requirements of the Act, the Board shall ensure implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures to control pests and minimize exposure of children, faculty, and staff to pesticides. These procedures shall be applicable to all school property in the Vineland School District. IPM Coordinator (IPMC) The Executive Director of Facilities shall be designated as the district’s Integrated Pest Management Coor-dinator (IPMC) and is responsible for the implementation of the school integrated pest management policy. The name, address, and telephone number of the Integrated Pest Management Coordinator (IMPC) of the school district is: Wayne Weaver, Executive Director of Facilities, c/o Vineland Public Schools, 625 Plum Street, Vineland, NJ 08360, 856-207-6223. The Integrated Pest Management. Coordinator maintains the product label and material safety data sheet, when available, of each pesticide that may be used on school property; (a) the label and data sheet is available for review by a parent, guardian, staff member, or student attending the school; (b) the Integrated Pest Management Coordinator is available to parents, guardians, and staff members for information and comment; (c) the time and place of any meetings that will be held to adopt the school integrated pest management policy; and the following statement: "As part of a school pest management plan, Vineland Public Schools may use pesticides to control pests". “The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) register pesticides to determine that the use of a pesticide in accordance with instructions printed on the label does not pose an unreasonable risk to human health and the environment. Nevertheless, the EPA and DEP cannot guarantee that registered pesticides do not pose any risk to human health, thus unnecessary exposure to pesticides should be avoided. The EPA has issued the statement that where possible, persons who are potentially sensitive, such as pregnant women, infants and children, should avoid unnecessary pesticide exposure.” Integrated Pest Management Procedures in Schools - Implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures will determine when to control pests and whether to use mechanical, physical, cultural, biological, or chemical methods. Applying IPM principles prevents unacceptable levels of pest damage by the most economical means and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment. The Integrated Pest Management Coordinator (IPMC) shall consider the full range of management options, including no action at all. Non-pesticide pest management methods are to be used whenever possible. The choice of using a pesticide shall be based on a review of all other available options and a determination that these options are not effective or not reasonable. When it is determined that a pesticide must be used, low impact pesticides and methods are preferred and

shall be considered for use first. Development of IPM plans - The Superintendent, in collaboration with the school Building Principal(s) and the IPMC, shall be responsible for the development of the IPM Plan for the school district. The school district’s Integrated Pest Manage-ment (IPM) Plan is a blueprint of how the school district will manage pests through IPM methods. The school district’s IPM Plan will state the school district’s goals regarding the management of pests and the use of pesticides for all school district property. The Plan will reflect the school district’s site-specific needs and a description of how each component of the school district’s Integrated Pest Management Policy and Regulation will be implemented for all school property. Education/Training - The school community will be educated about potential pest problems and IPM methods used to achieve the pest management objectives. The IPMC, other school staff, and pesticide applicators involved with implementation of the district’s IPM policy will be trained in appropriate components of IPM as it pertains to the school environment. Pupils and parents/legal guardians will be provided information on this policy and instructed on how they can contribute to the success of the IPM program. Recordkeeping - Records of pesticide use shall be maintained on site to meet the requirements of the State regulatory agency and the Board. Records shall also include, but are not limited to, pest surveillance data sheets and other non-pesticide pest management methods and practices utilized. Notification/Posting - The Building Principal of each school, working with the IPMC, is responsible for timely notification to pupils, parents or legal guardians and the school staff of pesticide treatments pursuant to the School Integrated Pest Management Act. Re-entry - Re-entry to a pesticide treated area shall conform to the requirements of the School Integrated Pest Management Act. Pesticide Applicators - The IPMC shall ensure that applicators follow State regulations, including licensing requirements and label precautions, and must comply with all components of the School Integrated Pest Management Policy. Evaluation - The Superintendent will report annually to the Board on the effectiveness of the IPM Plan and make recommendations for improvement as needed. The school district’s Integrated Pest Management Plan, Policy and Regulation shall be implemented not later than June 12, 2004. The Board directs the Superintendent to develop Regulations/Procedures for the implementation of the School Integrated Pest Management Plan. Sensitive Persons List - Potentially chemical sensitive people, such as pregnant women, infants and children, should avoid unnecessary pesticide exposure. Vineland Public Schools will put anyone one on a ‘Sensitive Persons List’ who communicates to the district that he/she wishes to be put on this list for immediate notification prior to pesticide applications. Transportation/Registration The Vineland Public School district operates one of the largest bus fleets in South Jersey. We currently employ 175 bus drivers and 40 aides who help transport approxi-mately 9,980 students every day. Safety First! To maintain our vehicles, we employ eight mechanics. Our vehicles meet the highest safety standards and are completely serviced and inspected four times a year. We also have very high standards for the drivers of those vehicles. Each of our drivers receives specialized training and refresher courses annually. Every two years our drivers complete the National Safety Council's eight-hour defensive driving course. A comprehensive student safety education program is also conducted in our district. Each student (grades K-5) receives training on how to walk safely to a bus stop, how to safely wait for the bus to arrive, and the safe procedures for enter-ing and exiting the vehicle. Each student receives this training once a school year. Every school year we ask the parents of our students to assist us with their safety training by reviewing the rules of riding a school bus which are provided here for your convenience. Registration The Vineland Board of Education Registration-Transportation Department offers a number of services. Those services include: preschool student registration, kindergarten registration, student transfers into the district, address changes and private school transportation applications. For more information, please call (856) 794-6700, extension 2287. Services are provided at the district's 17 West Landis Avenue (Coney Avenue) facility. The registration office is located in the same building as transportation to provide better customer service for parents.

Bus Safety Tips Students: 1. Please be at your assigned bus stop 10 minutes before your bus is scheduled to arrive. 2. Never run to or from the bus. 3. Stand back from the curb. 4. Don't push or shove. 5. Always obey the driver. 6. Wait for the driver's signal before crossing. 7. Always cross at least 10 feet in front of the bus. 8. Never crawl under a school bus. 9. Stay in your seat. 10. Don't yell or shout.

Motorists: 1. Be alert. Watch for children playing and standing near school bus stops. 2. Always stop for buses flashing red lights. 3. Be prepared to stop for buses flashing amber lights. 4. Be cautious of school buses loading or unloading students, even if the lights are not flashing. 5. Adhere to posted speed limits near school bus stops.
