Volume 1, Edition 16
“Who We Are and What We Do” Over the past few weeks, the Campus Leadership Teams, administrators, and staff have been evaluating the core values of SISD. In the center of our core values are the statements: Students First. No Excuses. Why students first? That is our business and our “products” are successful members of society! How do we accomplish this? Student inspiration is important! The SHS Education & Training students created a presentation about an inspiring teacher. This project demonstrates that educators are making a difference everyday in big and small ways. Right here in Snyder, Texas so many of our high school staff have inspired students to be their best. Below are some quotes from the students when asked, “Why is this teacher inspiring?” 9th Grader at SHS - Sky regarding Ms. Harris - SHS English teacher: “She continues to give me chances to learn from my mistakes.” 11th Grader at SHS - Jacqueline regarding Mr. Birks SHS Math teacher: “He makes Algebra easy for me.” 9th Grader at SHS - Taziamaraie regarding Mrs. Maxfield - SHS Science teacher “She dealt with dyslexia during school and has helped me overcome some of the same obstacles she faced.” 10th Grader at SHS - Trace regarding Mr. McCurdy SHS Band Director“- He is willing to come in before school to help me reach my full potential.” 11th Grader at SHS - Tarryn regarding Mr. Hughes SHS History teacher “He has helped me through my worst subject while making it fun!”
