Request for Proposals – Building & Safety Services The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Building & Safety Services. The schedule is as follows: RFP ISSUED May 13, 2016 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION May 31, 2016 DEADLINE PROPOSAL DUE DATE June 13, 2016 INTERVIEWS June-July 2016 City Council AWARD DATE August 9, 2016 Estimated START DATE September 1, 2016 The RFP was sent to several local firms identified as possible candidates to provide the services. It will also be posted on the City’s website. Casitas Files Eminent Domain Action against Golden State Water In a move that was long anticipated and expected, Casitas Municipal Water District filed eminent domain actions in Ventura County Superior Court this week to acquire Golden State Water’s Ojai service area. Casitas announced the filing this week, after Golden State rejected its offer of just compensation to purchase the system. Libbey Bowl Cyclone Lights Last Friday Public Works staff finished retro-fitting the Cyclone light fixtures in the seating area at Libbey Bowl with LED Bulbs. These fixtures have had reliability issues since the Bowl was re-built. In addition to being used during events at the Bowl, these lights are on each night from dusk-till-dawn to provide area lighting for security. Because of the heavy use, and being on the dimmer system, the original bulbs would usually need to be replaced at least once a year. The new LED bulbs are expected to last more than five times as long as the original florescent bulbs and use 30% less electricity.
