Taking Photos/Video Aerial photo functions: Connecting Camera 1. Insert the cable plug from high-definition camera into mating socket on aircraft. 2. Turn on the aircraft power switch. When the blinking red lamp on the highdefinition camera turns green, it means the camera is working and in standby mode. If both the red and green lights are not lit, it means the camera cannot connect to the SD memory card. If the red light keeps blinking, the memory card is full, and it needs to emptied.
To take PHOTO: Tap transmitter button "C" UP (by left control stick).
C
The transmitter will beep and the Camera will take a photo and the GREEN indicator on the camera will flash RED one time and return to solid GREEN. To take VIDEO: Tap transmitter button "C" DOWN.
C
The transmitter will beep and the Camera will start taking video and the GREEN indicator on the camera will change to RED and keep flashing. To STOP Video: Tap button "C" DOWN again. The transmitter will beep to indicate video is stopped and the camera indicator will stop flashing RED and turn solid GREEN again. The camera has two modes of high definition (1080P) for 8MB images, and (720P) for 3.5MB images. The mode is selected by a switch on the camera beside the SD card slot. For clear images ensure the surface of high-definition lens is clean. If there is dirt or fingerprints, wipe the lens clean with a microfiber cloth. The recording video format of this HD camera is MOV format. To view video, use a player that supports the MOV format.

I The transmitter has two operational Modes. NOTE: The mode setting changes the location of the control stick where the roll (left/right) and yaw (rotation) are located. To change Mode, Hold button B to the right while turning on Controller's power switch.
B
Mode 1: left stick = elevation & yaw (rotation); right stick = pitch (forward/reverse) & roll (left/right) Mode 2: left stick = elevation/ roll (left/right); right stick = pitch/ yaw (rotation) To change (toggle) Modes, push button B to right then turn on the transmitter power. NOTE: Mode 1 and 2, as used for the X8G, are different from "standard" RC conventions. The X8G mode definitions result in Mode1 being the same as the industry "standard" Mode 2 and Mode2 is what is normally called "Mode 4" in the industry. If you are an experienced user and don't realize the above, you will have some very confused initial flights if you try to operate the X8G in what you think are industry normal Mode settings!

1. Open battery cover, and connect battery connector to mating plug on aircraft.
2. Insert battery into the fuselage, and close battery cover.
3. Push the Controller ON/OFF power switch up to turn it on, and then turn on the power switch on the bottom of the aircraft.
4. Push the left throttle lever to the highest position, hold it there for several seconds and then pull it back to the lowest position. The transmitter will sound a long Beep to show that the quadcopter has established a radio link and a "forward" direction and has entered into the pre-fly state.
1. Quad Battery Low-Voltage Warning When the four LED lights on the bottom of the Quad start to flash, it indicates that the battery voltage is low. Return the aircraft back to your position immediately. -9-
2. Over-Current Protection In the event that a prop blade's rotation gets blocked, automatic over current protection protects the motor and battery from excessive current flow. 3. Gyro Horizon Correction Place the quadcopter on a horizontal surface, to calibrate its horizontal plane recognition, then push both transmitter left and right control levers to lowest right corner for about 2-3 seconds. The Quad indicates a successful reset by flashing its indicator LEDs for 2-3 seconds, then changing back to normal. 4. Loops and Flips After you are familiar with the basic operation, you can do some awesome and exciting tricks and stunts! First, fly the aircraft to a height of more than 3 meters, then press the 3D Eversion switch on the right rear side of the transmitter, and tap the transmitter right control stick (in any direction) to make a 360° flip. TIP: Eversions work better when full motor power is available from a fully charged battery. 5. Headless Flying If the Quad has not been turned on, start it up and initialize the communications link and define the "Forward" direction as described in the previous page. ("Ready to Fly Your Quadcopter" ). The Quad's default mode after the above initialization is "Non-Headless" To switch from "Non-Headless" to "Headless" Mode proceed as follows: 1. After executing a "Forward" definition, the aircraft defaults
to non-headless mode, and the indicator lights on the aircraft will lite in a steady bright state. After pressing down the headless function switch on the top left of the controller for >2 seconds, the remote control will give out a burst of short beeps to confirm it has entered into headless state, and the aircraft LEDs will flash for ~4 seconds. Pressing again for >2 seconds will exit headless mode, and the controller will emit one long beep for confirmation and the aircraft LEDs will be steadly lit. - 10 -
Headless Flying
(Continued)
In headless mode, the operator has no need to recognize the position of the aircraft's front or rear. One just needs to control the aircraft in accordance with the direction of the remote control's position control stick. That is, if you push the stick right the aircraft will go to your right no matter what direction the front of the Quad is actually facing. Correcting Gyro Forward Direction Error If the aircraft crashes in the headless mode, the direction orientation may need to be calibrated again. To do so, pull remote control's left and right control sticks to the bottom left simultaneously. When indicator light on the aircraft slowly flickers for 3 seconds, it indicates that correction is done. 6. Performance Mode High/Low speed Indicator. To change between high speed (H) "performance" mode, or low speed (L) "beginner" mode Tap the "Performance/Headless" switch. The H or L setting is displayed on the LCD panel beside the Battery level display. (If you hold the switch down for more than 2 seconds it will change the Headless mode state instead of the Performance setting.)
Battery Replacement
1. Turn off aircraft's power supply, and push the switch to "OFF".
2. Open aircraft's 3. Disconnect battery from Quad's power battery cover connector. Insert backward, new battery and connect its plug to Quad's connector. Carefully tuck wiring back into cavity.
- 11 -
4. After battery replacement, fasten the battery cover again.
Charging Quad Battery
1. Connect Charger to 110-220 VAC power line.
2. Connect Battery to Charger.
1. Plug AC Powerline adapter into AC power source and insert its DC cable into the input socket on top of the Balanced Charger. The charger's red LED will light. 2. Insert three-prong plug of Quad battery into the Charger's DC output socket. The Charger's Green LED will light as the battery is charging, and will turn off when the battery is fully charged. (Charging time can be up to 200 minutes for a fully discharged battery.) Note: If the Green LED does not light it means the battery is fully charged already and there is no need to recharge it. Charging Time: Up to 200 minutes.
Flying time: About 7-10 minutes.
Charging Cautions 1. The Quad battery uses Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) cells which must be charged with a "Balanced Charger" for both safety and good battery life. Charge Batteries in a dry and ventilated area and keep them far away from heat sources, fire, or sparks. 2. When charging, remove the batteries from the Quad. The charging process should be supervised by an adult so as not to cause an accident. 3. After flying, do not charge the battery if it is still warm. Wait for it to cool down, otherwise charging may cause a swollen battery or even a fire hazard. 4. When batteries have not been used for a long time, or appear to be swollen, replace them. 5. A battery, when not in use for a long time, will naturally lose its charge. Repeated charges/discharges eventually reduce the life of the battery.

NOTE:
Each propeller may be marked on its underside with either an A1, A2, B1 or B2. The numbers are not important, however the letters are. These letters correspond to the direction in which the propeller is designed to spin. When changing a propeller, always be sure to replace it with another propeller of the same letter.
1. Underneath each motor pod is a letter (A or B) molded into the plastic. Insert a prop blade of the same letter onto motor shaft (Figure 1), and carefully rotate the prop until it aligns with the motor shaft splines, then push the prop down. The flat washer side of the prop should be on the top. 2. Push the plastic blade retainer onto the motor shaft (Figure 2) and rotate it until the motor shaft shaft-pin hole is aligned with the opening of the retainer so the shaft pin can be inserted. 3. Install the shaft-pin all the way and rotate blade retainer ninety degrees in the clockwise direction (Figure 3) to lock it into place. 4. Push prop blade cover onto plastic retainer while twisting in clockwise direction as shown in Figure 4.

Setup & Trim Summary
(Pages 8-9)
Depending on how accurate the Gyro Horizon Calibration was, and the condition of the individual props and motors the Quad may drift off a stable hover position. This can be corrected with the Trim controls. An easy way to find the right corrective trim setting is to hover the Quad, noting which direction it wants to drift, and tapping the trim controls until the Quad is hovering in a stable and steady position. Tap the opposite direction trim button to counteract the drift. That is, if the Quad wants to drift Forward, then tap the Back trim button to offset the undesired forward drift. The following trim process is for the MODE1 Controller setting. Since the MODE2 setting moves the yaw and roll controls to differing Control Sticks, the trim buttons are also moved accordingly. See Pages 8-9 for details.
When the Quad drifts forward/backward, correct it by pressing the Forward/Backward trimmer button down/up. When the Quad drifts to the left/right side, correct it by pressing the right/left trimmer button. When the Quad keeps rotating clockwise/counter-clockwise, correct it by pressing the fine-tuning button (rotation/rudder) right / left.
