The wider curriculum... In Science lessons we will be completing our unit of work on Plants then finding out about animals including humans. The children will discover some basic animal life cycles and will explore the basic needs of animals to survive. We will look in finer detail at the importance to humans of hygiene, balanced diet and exercise. Our theme work this term looks at the lives of famous people in History. We have already learned about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. We will be going on to learn about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole
Year 2 Christmas Performance
The title of the performance will remain a surprise. The children may soon be bringing home lines to learn or song lyrics to practice. Nearer the time, we may also ask you for help with costumes although we do not expect parents to rush out to buy costumes. Your help and encouragement is always greatly appreciated.
Maths
Children will be learning about multiplication and division . We will begin with the 2x, 5x and 10x tables. It is very useful to know tables by heart and parents are invaluable in helping children achieve these In Music the children will be learning songs targets (as well as number bonds to 20!)
