Welcome to Year 1. Mrs Bye teaches 1K and Mrs Jennings teaches 1N. The Year one classroom assistant is Miss Watson. We all look forward to a successful and exciting school year. Our timetables follow a two weekly rota and once they have been finalised, we shall send a copy home along with a list of what is needed on each day. We shall continue using the yellow message folders to send paper copies of letters and other information. Please remove the contents and return the folder the next day. Some messages are sent via e-mail. Please note that swimming is on Mondays but on alternate weeks for each class. 2K’s first swimming lesson will be on Monday 11th September. 1N’s will be on Monday 18th September. PE for both classes is on Mondays (if not swimming) and Tuesday. Please, please ensure that all clothing is clearly named including shoes. Please remember to send a healthy snack for morning break and a bottle of water. Milk will be available if it has been requested. Some dates for the diary! Friday 6th October is a staff training day and no pupils are in school. Friday 20th October is also a staff training day and the half term starts for the children. Tuesday 7th November - Parents’ Evening Wednesday 8th November - Parents’ Evening Friday 15th December - Christmas concert at 2pm Friday 2nd February – 1K’s class assembly at 8:50am (parents welcome) Friday 11th May – 1N’s class assembly at 8:50am (parents welcome) More dates are available on the school calendar which can be viewed on the school website. Your child will be set reading, spelling and maths homework. The maths will often be online using Activelearn or Mathletics. Your child’s passwords for Activelearn, Mathletics and the school’s VLE ‘Fronter’ will be provided in the front cover of your child’s reading record shortly. There will be an opportunity to speak to the class teachers at the Parents’ Evenings. However, please contact us at any time if you have concerns or need information.
