How Can We Help? Participants with the Youth Success Network of Ocean County will be encouraged to set and reach their own educational and employment goals. We provide Work Readiness, Internships, and assistance achieving wraparound support services.

Youth Success The Youth Success Network of Ocean County seeks to improve the quality of life of out-of-school and disconnected youth living in Ocean County by providing access to educational, vocational and employment opportunities. The Youth Success Network is an activity of the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, funded through Ocean County PIC, Inc., and is a collaborative effort led by Rutgers T.E.E.M. Gateway in close partnership with Ocean County College, Mental Health Association in NJ, and an expanding group of community-based organizations.

We can help participants to access training for the test of High School Equivalency, classes for English Language Learners, and courses leading to employerrecognized certification according to participant skills and interest in growing job fields. In Ocean County, the fields of education and health services, and leisure and hospitality, are large and growing more rapidly than in NJ as a whole. The Youth Success Network will prepare participants for sustainable jobs and careers in growing industries.

Who Can Participate? Eligible participants are out-of-school youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24. These include those who lack a high school diploma and those who graduated from high school but face barriers to employment and lack supports.

What you can expect when you meet us: •

New participants will need to complete an intake process including income eligibility and documentation such as birth certificate, school records, and more.

Intake assessments will include the Test of Adult Basic Education to indicate academic skill levels, and career interest assessment.

•

Case management will continue with goal setting and addressing participants’ barriers to long-term success in school and at work.
