Achieving Self-Regulation Using the ZONES Framework Workshop Details: The Zones of Regulation program is a curriculum designed to foster self-regulation and emotional control. The program has been developed by Leah Kuypers, Occupational Therapist (www.zonesofregulation.com).
This 3-hour workshop will include: Presentation of the ZONES framework and resources that can be shared between students, staff, and parents. Discussion on how the program can bridge the gap between “emotional regulation” and “sensory regulation”. Demonstration of the ZONES iPad app that supports the program. Sharing of specific examples highlighting how the program can be used with EVERYONE. Creation of resources to bring back to use within schools and classrooms.
Speaker Bio: Christina Nykyforuk, MScOT - Christina Nykyforuk is a Registered Occupational Therapist who holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta. She is currently employed with Elk Island Public Schools while also providing services and consultation through her private practice. Along with her colleagues, she has been excited to see how the Zones of Regulation program can be implemented in schools and classrooms to positively impact student learning and interactions.
