Engineers Week Activities at the Whitaker Center Saturday 2-17-18 & Sunday 2-18-18 Once again, ASCE and the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council (CPEWC) are planning to provide educational exhibits and demonstrations during Engineers Week to supplement the Whitaker Center's existing permanent displays. This year, volunteers from ASCE will coordinate several different activities for attendees to teach them about civil engineering principles and inspire the next generation of engineers! Volunteers are needed in 2-hour shifts to cover the weekend and we would like at least 2 volunteers per shift. Available time slots are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Saturday 10am-12pm Saturday 12pm-2pm Saturday 2pm-4pm Sunday 12pm-2pm Sunday 2pm-4pm
This volunteer opportunity is open to all Section Members, and is not just a Younger Member Event. If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information, please contact Bill Kingston (

Engineers Week Activities at Whitaker Center February 17 and 18, 2018
The Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council is planning to provide educational exhibits and demonstrations during Engineers Week again this year to supplement the Whitaker Center’s existing permanent displays. Please let us know if your society is planning to attend this year. Schedule: Saturday, February 17, 2018 = 10:00am – 4:00pm Sunday, February 18, 2018 = 12:00pm – 4:00pm Proposed Activities: The following activities were sponsored by member societies last year and were enjoyed by several hundred students during the weekend. We are planning to repeat some of the same activities, but are also looking for new ideas and suggestions. Society AIChE ASCE ASHE WTS IEEE IoPP ASME

Volunteers are needed in 2-hour shifts to cover the weekend. A sign-up sheet is attached. Engineers Week is the perfect time to bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents. Please help us make a difference here in Central Pennsylvania. Note for volunteers: Whitaker Center has provided guidelines for family members who wish to help out. Children in grades 9-12 who attend with an adult volunteer and plan to help with the activities will receive free admission to the science center for the day. Please refrain from bringing smaller children unless you are personally able to supervise them during the event and pay for their admission.
