June 12, 2013 Media: At 1:30 p.m., June 13, a memorial to Prairie High School alumni who died in the military will be dedicated at the school, 11500 NE 117th Ave., Vancouver. It was created by current Air Force Jr. ROTC students. You are welcome to attend. Those named on the memorial are: Lance Corporal Cedric Bruns. Class of 2000; Corporal Jeremiah Johnson. Class of 2001; Lance Corporal Kane Funke. Class of 2003
A photo of memorial itself is attached to email. Below is an excerpt from the notice sent by a Junior ROTC cadet at PHS who was instrumental in this project: “My name is Casey McNicholas. I am a senior at Prairie High School and am in AFJROTC. Myself and some other students put together a memorial for former PHS students who gave their lives in service to our country. We finished the memorial a few weeks ago and this Thursday we are planning on having a dedication ceremony. I would like to invite you to the ceremony, which is at 1:30 on June 13th (Thursday) right in front of the main office at Prairie High School. . . .
