Research theme Workforce management in services – maximize staff satisfaction to maximize income
Highlights • • • • •
Workforce management is economically very relevant because labour cost is the major cost component in most companies More than 70% of the workforce in developed countries is employed in the service sector Service far exceeds the daily working hours of an employee in many organizations of the service sector In services, satisfying staff preferences such as days off and type of shift is increasingly important The main goal is to develop optimization models and algorithms to maximize income and staff satisfaction
