MERCHANT OPPORTUNITIES, DATES, AND DEADLINES DECEMBER 2ND, 2016 This festive holiday event was established in 2002, reminding our community to “Shop Local” for the holidays, bringing in shoppers from the Four Corners area, and showcasing our great downtown and local shopping! It was established as a response to the Missionary Ridge Fire and the impact it had on our local independent businesses, and has since grown to become a local holiday favorite that brings our community together!

Noel Night is Durango’s Christmas Party! Merchant Participation All businesses hosting an event please fill this out b ​ y Nov. 8th​!

Merchant: List Your Events/Host Entertainment - Online Form i.e. a book signing, fundraiser, etc.. Noel Night tip ​ for merchants: Results year after year show that the businesses offering a delicious snack/drink and wondrous deal in their ad are the ones that see the most traffic/revenue on Noel Night. Be sure to include the words “All Day & Noel Night” in your ad to get all day shoppers. Noel Night Sponsorships ($500) A few sponsorships are still available. Please provide logo and payment to ​[email protected]​ by Nov. 7th. Your logo will be included in local and out of area advertising.

Entertainment Over the years, local entertainers and musicians have helped Local First make Noel Night a very special night (and day)! This is a great way for entertainers to connect with the community. (This is an unpaid, volunteer performance at various locales downtown, with a listing in the Durango Herald Noel Night insert publicizing participation.) Interested in hosting a musician at your business: Fill this out!

Calling all Musicians and Entertainers Online Form New Approaches to Parking We are mapping hospitality parking lots that the public could use for free from 5 pm to 10 pm the day/evening of the event. More details and a map will be placed within the Herald insert.

Ad Opportunities The Durango Herald is creating an insert AND collecting your participation fee, which they pass along to Local First. The Noel Night Flyer insert is scheduled to come out on November 27. The Durango Herald is partnering with Local First to spread the word even farther than previous years, in ways that have been tailored based on YOUR feedback. If you choose not to advertise with the Herald, please mail a participation fee of $50 to Local First at PO Box 2058 Durango, CO 81301. Thank you for your continued participation as a merchant of Noel Night. Other Marketing benefits this year include a social media campaign, additional Noel Night inserts provided to participating businesses around November 30, along with Participating Merchant Posters distributed to your place of business.

The Mission of Noel Night is to celebrate our historic downtown shopping district during the holidays.

Don’t miss out on being a part of the 15th Annual NOEL NIGHT! History of Campaign: The 1​st​ Annual Noel Night was organized in 2002 by Jane Gould and Nancy Juliana from Beads & Beyond, in response to a difficult year following the Missionary Ridge Fire. ​Noel Night has since grown into Durango's Christmas Party over the past 14 years, thanks to your continued investment, participation and support.​ Starting at 65 merchants, Noel Night has grown to almost 100 participants each year through strong partnership between Local First, BID, the Durango Herald, and YOU! ​Spread the word and let’s make this the highest participation year yet!

This year…​ in addition to the events, music & festivities organized by Local First, we are excited to introduce a charitable component to Noel Night that will benefit everyone!

In keeping with our current B ​ e Local Coupon Book theme of “Home” and to further our community’s advocacy efforts around affordable housing, Local First plans to begin selling L ​ ocalist t-shirts​, with some of the proceeds benefiting CEAC, the Community Emergency Assistance Coalition, an anti-homelessness initiative serving La Plata and San Juan Counties.
