Welcome to Clarkston Schools: Clarkston is a highly regarded school district with an enrollment of 8,100 students. The district consists of seven elementary schools (K-5), one middle school serving grades 6-7, one junior high serving grades 8-9, and Clarkston High School, which serves 10th-12th grade students. Clarkston offers an Advanced Studies program beginning in junior high; an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and and an educational partnership with the University of Michigan Flint (DEEP)at the high school level. Our Science, Math and Technology Academy (CSMTech) serves accepted 9th-12th grade students from around Oakland and neighboring counties, and during the 2017-2018 academic year we will offer 14 Advanced Placement courses. Rigorous, highly comprehensive curricular offerings enable our students to prepare for future success. Clarkston's reputation as an outstanding school district is well established: We have three national Blue Ribbon schools and six others have earned Michigan Exemplary Blue Ribbon school status. Clarkston was named in Forbes Magazine's Top Suburbs to Live Well, citing our graduation rates, class sizes; and M-STEP scores being among the best in Oakland County. Community: The Clarkston Community School District is located in North Oakland County. The district consists of the City and Village of Clarkston; including the Townships of Independence, Waterford, and Springfield. The community is ideally located for commuting to Flint, Auburn Hills, and Detroit. This is an established, suburban residential community of 47,000 people who encourage and support a quality educational program. Several colleges and universities are available within driving distance from the immediate Clarkston area: Oakland University, University of Michigan-Flint, Kettering University, Oakland Community College and Mott Community College.

Class of 2017 At a Glance: The Class of 2018 consists of 595 students. 20 IB Diploma Candidates, 17 AP Scholars, 7 AP Scholars with Distinction, 7 AP Scholars with Honors and 4 National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalists. The class is representative of the entire school with 13% racial/ethnic diversity. 53% male, 47% female student population and 18% qualifying for federal free and reduced lunch programs. Members of the class of 2018 are active in 33 campus clubs, including State and National award winning DECA, BPA/Computer Consortium, Mock Trial, and FIRST Robotics. The class of 2018 also competes in 28 Varsity sports.
