2017-2018 Program Overview Mentor Connection, presented by NORTHFORCE, pairs current UMD and CSS students with local professional leaders for a year-long mentorship program. Together, pairs work on networking in the professional community, giving students the opportunity to connect with a professional in their field over career-specific advice and guidance. The program is open to all majors. Participating students will: ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓

Build your brand and learn how to effectively market your skills and qualifications Gain real world insight and experience that cannot be taught in the classroom. Enhance your resume by showcasing your involvement in the community.
Qualified students for Mentor Connection: Are currently freshman, sophomores or juniors. Plan to be on campus both Fall and Spring semester 2017-2018 Have an interest in potentially staying in the Twin Ports area after graduation Have demonstrated follow-through and commitment in previous involvement, as you will be representing your university in the greater community. Will complete an application and a reference form Must be able to attend ALL six events to be a graduate of the program – see details below Event details: Mentor Connection organizes 6 programmed events. They are on Tuesday evenings from 5:156:30pm, each at a different location in Duluth. The dates are: • October 10th • February 6th • November 14th • March 20th • December 5th • April 10th How to Apply: 1. Register and complete a profile on NORTHFORCE HERE. 2. Complete the Mentor Connection Application form HERE. 3. Obtain one letter of recommendation from a professor whom you know well and have taken at least one class from in your field of interest. The link for the reference form for you to provide to your professor will be displayed AFTER you complete step 2.
