FROM COMMANDER Bill Cummings: Frost is in the air and fall is here. That means our Post members are busy with activities. Most importantly we take time to honor our Veterans. Our annual Veterans Day breakfast will be on Saturday this year. Free for all Veterans be sure to stop in. We also take time to replace the flags on the Veterans graves once again. Don’t forget the Veterans Hall of Fame enshrinement also on the eleventh. The OSU / Michigan football game means food and fun for fans that join us for our game day potluck. We will provide some extras so come on down. We are bringing back an old tradition with a perch dinner and feather party on Friday December first. Join us in reviving al old favorite and win your Christmas ham or turkey. The adult Christmas party will be on Friday December 22. This is for paid up members and is for adult members. We will provide the food. Bring a treat or dish if you want to share. Don’t forget we serve breakfast and lunch daily in the canteen. Stop in and meet our friendly staff and enjoy home cooked food at reasonable prices.

You must sign up your Children, Grand-children, etc. by Nov. 30th in the canteen. - Dec. 4th Auxiliary Christmas Party 6 pm. See Pres. FROM AUXILIARY PRESIDENT Darlene:

Happy Thanksgiving Merry Christmas Happy New Year to You All I would like to invite all Aux. Ladies to come to the Christmas Party on December 4th at 6:00 p.m. Once again we are going to do something different this year. Gift exchange limit is $10.00. If everyone would just buy a gift card and put in a Christmas card and seal the envelope plus sign the card so whoever gets your card will know who it is from. . Any questions call me. We will play games. Everyone is to bring a covered dish. Hope to see you there. Come and enjoy in all the fun at the American Legion Post upstairs. Auxiliary meals are on the 3rd Friday of the month. If anyone would like to help in any way contact one of the officers. We need everyone's help to record anything you might do pertaining to any of the programs. Just note what you did and the hours and or money that you spent. We do random acts of kindness every day. If you have any questions ask one of the officers. The Children’s' Christmas Party will be at the Bowling Alley in Bucyrus on December 2 nd from 1-3 pm. Santa Claus will be there. Kids can bowl and eat pizza. Please sign up at the post. Members please sign up kids, grand-children and great-grand-kids up to the age of 17. New Year’s Eve will be celebrated on Sat. Dec. with Karaoke at the Legion come and enjoy your Legion Family and bring your singing voices too. Chili Cook-Off and Make and Bake will be the last Saturday in January. If you would like to donate baked goods or anything else let one of the officers know. Will let you know where the money will be donated to at a later date. Auxiliary meetings are on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Please come and join us with any different ideas you may have. Thank-you for all your Support.

FROM THE SAL Commander Kevin Teynor:

MEMBERSHIP

Greetings from the SAL officers. We hope that all is well with all our members. We now are in full swing with our meals. We hope to see you on Fridays enjoying the meals being cooked by our Legion family. All proceeds go towards veteran and community projects. The Son’s will be cooking steaks on Nov 17 th. Then we will be having pork chops on Dec 8th. We our looking forward to seeing lots of Veterans on Veterans Day for breakfast. Remember those who are serving away from their family through the holiday season. Dues are now due. They will continue to be $18 for Son’s dues until Veteran’s Day after that they will go up to $23. Help us hit our membership goal by paying early. We are always looking for new faces to be involved. Want to help with a meal? Help decide on where to donate money? Come to a meeting. Son’s meetings are on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 PM.

Secret Santa We will be having our Secret Santa gift exchange. For those who would like to participate, a signup sheet will be posted in the canteen. The Auxiliary is collecting sweat pants for Bucyrus Elementary School. They would like size 4-5 to size 14-16. There is a collection bin in the canteen to put them in. We will be collecting until Thanksgiving. THANKS!
