15 February 2018 Dear Parents and Caregivers 2018 Parent Contributions QPS prides itself on offering enhanced learning opportunities for all students. These ‘extras’ are what makes QPS a special place to learn yet the funding received by Ministry of Education only provides for the very basic curriculum delivery. To continue to offer these enhanced learning opportunities, contributions from parents/caregivers are essential. We are asking parents/caregivers to make a contribution at the levels listed below. Your contributions can be made in full or by weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments to suit your budgeting. Please see the calculation table overleaf to work out the best payment option for you. The total annual contribution will cover class experiences which all students will be involved in: ● Class day trips ● Visitors to school ● Outdoor Education Programme (5 days during the year) ● Junior School Ice Skating (NE – Year 2) ● Year 3-8 Snowsports Programme (covers all costs except the ski pass; you must buy this from NZSki more details to follow) ● Consumables for technology (NE - Year 6) and Technology for Year 7 and 8 ● Swimming Year 1 and 2 (QPS) , Swimming, transport and gym Year 3 - 8 (Events Centre) These contributions do not include costs for: ● Uniform ● Stationery ● Optional activities: netball, touch rugby and rippa rugby and QPS representative sports or academic events. The cost of optional activities will be advised separately. ● Year 6 Stewart Island Camp (Please note: 2017 Stewart Island parent contribution was $180.00) ● Year 8 Urban Camp - $150 will be invoiced separately to Year 8 accounts for those parents who wish to start making contributions to this. Please note: this is a part charge ONLY and the additional contribution will be invoiced once all fundraising is complete and costs of camp known. (Please note: 2017 Urban Camp parent contribution was $200.00)
Voluntary School Donation We request that each family make a donation to the school. PLEASE NOTE: this is separate to the Parent Contribution. This money is used to purchase extra resources for the benefit of your child/children and is not included in the parent contribution. 1 Child
